The income from taxes on tobacco brings in 10 billion a year ... the cost of the effect of tobacco on the Nation's health is around 40 billion a year. As someone who smokes I've found my problem is not that I cannot cope when I need a cigarette ... I spent 6 weeks in hospital ... I was unable to BUY tobacco. I coped OK ... hardly thought about my "addiction". As soon as I left hospital I went straight to a shop and brought some tobacco ... that's the first thing I did after I left the hospital. My attempts to give up smoking have always ended with my going to BUY tobacco ... thinking as I approached the shop: "I don't want to smoke ... I'm feeling better since I stopped smoking". When I'm able to BUY tobacco I can't stop myself doing so. When I CAN'T BUY tobacco I don't crave for it. My addiction is to the act of BUYING tobacco. I gave up a couple of times when I lived in rural Wales and the nearest shop was miles away ... when I needed to go to the shops I brought tobacco ... despite not having craved for a smoke for a couple of weeks.

Fucking ridiculous that a supposed Conservative Government should put this nonsense forward. We now havea Conservative party that does not believe in conservatism, a Labour party that does not believe in socialism and a Liberal Democrat party that does not believe in liberalism and only in democracy when it suits. What a shit show.. Sunak has really fucked the party up.

Sunak has really fucked the party up. I think it goes back a lot further. Cameron started the rot and every leader since then has made it worse. When they selected him all the choices were bad. Imagine if we had internet conman Shapps running the show or that Mordaunt loon.

What a shit show.. Which is why Reform UK are polling 15%. As long as they, and any other naturally nasty right-wing movement stay around 15%, then no problems. The sooner the economy straightens out, the sooner the demise of the Righties.

The sooner the economy straightens out, the sooner the demise of the Righties. Are you forgetting UKIP changed government policy with no MP's and just 12% of the vote. Cant you see it's people like you who will ensure the success of Reform UK because the majority of sensible people are sick to death of lefties who insist anyone who doesn't vote Labour is a nasty righty.
