Veteran MP Tim Loughton joins Tory exodus as he announces he will stand down at the next election - following in the footsteps of ex-PM Theresa May and more than 60 other ConservativesVeteran MP Tim Loughton has become the latest to join the Tory exodus from Parliament after he today announced he will will stand down at the next general election. The long-serving backbencher, who has represented East Worthing & Shoreham since 1997, said it was 'wiser to leave five minutes too soon than to continue for five years too long'. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13305271/MP-Tim-Loughton-Tory-exodus-election-Theresa-Conservatives.htmlIt makes me wonder if there will be any Tory MP's after the next election. And I have to say, they have only themselves to blame. They removed Liz Truss, who admittedly went to quickly for some, and appointed a centrist. If they had shown a bit of loyalty and stuck with her, I'm convinced this government and the Conservative party would not be in the situation they are in today.

Truss may well have had some of the policies you were after, but on top of that she was a loose screw, so unsuitable. I have to honestly say here the only person at the moment who displays balls is President Putin. He no take not shit off the yanks.

It's the best thing for them. They are next to useless and often very damaging to our society, especially all their wokeness.

The US is the biggest dictator and President Putin has taken them on and it looks like he is winning, so it does not follow I like dictators. I'm saying he has balls, which he does have. Does Rishi have balls in your opinion? What about Starmer? Would he ever tell the US to stick it?

The US system like any democratic system has it's faults, but to compare it to Putin's dictatorship is laughable. Putin has been in power, as prime minister or president, for 25 years and in Russia Putin's political opponents tend to disappear, go to prison or jump out of high windows. Putin is a thug, a criminal, a dictator.

Anyway, it still does not detract from my view the man has balls. The US has 800 military bases around the world and President Putin is the CIA's most wanted. I find it quite amusing in fact. You see President Putin and President Xi are closest of friends, but they are so different in so many ways, although they compliment one another. This Sino-Russian blend is an interesting juxtaposition. They both come from very distinctive culture. This coming together of the two nations is the US' worst nightmare.

It’s hardly a surprise is it The Tories have known the next election will be a bloodbath for ages Will Starmer fuck up SO badly Labour will be out after one full term or less ? I rather doubt it. So i will be close to death by the time Labour are evicted. The back benchers know that this is the time to bugger off, either to retirement, the house of lords or whatever non exec directorship beckons. Courtesy and etiquette dictates that the party be given notice and ample time to find an enthusiastic novice keen to be slaughtered at the next ballot, shrug it off as water under the bridge and dig in for 2031 or maybe slightly earlier Now is the obvious time to set those wheels in motion

As far as I can tell there will be two major policy changes: The EU, and net zero. Starmer has already said he will seek a much closer relationship with the EU, in other words he will be an EU rule taker, not a rule maker. And I think we all know how keen Labour are to force us into fuel poverty with net zero. I accept the Tories have utterly failed to control legal and illegal immigration, but anyone who thinks it will improve under a Labour government are fools. I think any Labour voters who are hoping for another 1997 landslide followed by two terms in office, are in for a shock, Starmer is no Blair. If Labour win, and there are no guarantees, but if they do win, then after five years of accepting EU diktats and migrants, forcing net zero on people who cant afford it, and of course supporting ever more woke gender nonsense, I think the vast majority of sensible people will be pleading for change.

Tory MPs no longer have open meetings with the public on police advice, it has been like this for a couple of years suggests security concerns.

Maybe they will turn up on strictly as failed politicians usually look for other things, they will be failures at as well.
