Mob rule is lefties vandalising statues, blocking roads and closing down London every weekend, and the reason they do it, every weekend, is because the police are weak. The TSG should be deployed to crack a few lefty heads and encourage disruptive feckless lefties to behave themselves.

I would take a stab in the dark and guess, it isn't as much mob rule, but the obvious gap between this is what is good for you what you need or want doesn't come into it. LOL - when did these protesters ask anyone what they wanted?.

'Labour MPs lives are in danger from the radical far-left Muslims, who threaten to murder them if they don't vote in favour of a Gaza ceasefire' ..... what have far-left wing radical Muslims got to do with... Wrong, mob rule is anyone who goes beyond what is acceptable or what is reasonable protest or within the law to further their political aims. Mob rule is not restricted to people of the Left, and to suggest so is very far removed from reality Some of the very worst scenes of violence, intimidation and vandalism have taken place at marches or demonstrations by the far right, the BNP, Britain First and the EDL, all well known for seeking confrontation.

What is the difference between what is acceptable or reasonable protest and that protest that is within the law? Surely all protest must be within the law to be acceptable. You have to wonder why 'far right' protests gather round them violence, it may be much to do with Antifa and the HopenotHate mob doing their own share of attacking. Eventually even the BBC had to accede that the violence in Bristol surrounding an edl march was due to the march being ambushed by counter protestors. In Blackburn many protestors turned up to counter the EDL who had been diverted to a car park some distance away, when protestors found no EDL they stoned and bottled the police instead. When an EDL bus broke down on the mile end road once the only violence was from mobs of Muslims who turned up to stone the bus. So you need to seek out information that is always there between the lines in any report only most reports tend to be biased. There are many more examples.

I have never agreed that protest should be within the law, and never will.
Gandhi carried out many acts of civil disobedience which were unlawful, but the laws were unfair and unjust.
Black people in the American South broke the law, laws which were unjust.
I personaly broke the law when I objected to, and protested against Thatchers Poll Tax, and it worked, we brought her down, and that law was unjust.
We draw the line at violence, putting life in danger or vandalism, otherwise nothing is off the agenda as far as I am concerned.

I am still not clear, what illegal action is acceptable as that is surely a matter of opinion and if we live in a representative democracy that initiated the community charge then that stands as being by the people. The Community charge was brought down because a lot of people objected and acted violently but we have no idea if that was a democratic viewpoint as it was never tested. In the end the mob had their way. No way to run a country really. Get enough people to shout and scream with the letting loose of a few hotheads and hey presto you have your way. The poll tax riots certainly put lives in danger and vandalism was widespread. Vandalism seems quite the thing now with the Free Palestine mob. You cannot equate our representative democracy with Indian Imperial rule or the Civil Rights problems in the Southern US states. I am not sure which laws you broke that did not put people's lives in danger.

The Poll Tax was dropped and Thatcher brought down because hundreds of thousands of people refused to pay it, and because millions took to the streets to protest. I was one of those who refused to pay, and I was one of those who protested.
The overwhelming, vast majority of those who opposed the Poll Tax never indulged in violence, but the most noteable incidents of violence were at the Trafalgar Square demonstration, where 250,000 people marched against the Poll Tax, and the Metropolitan Police were partly responsible for that violence, by closing down tube stations, stranding people, and ordering stewards of the march to "stand down".
The Poll Tax was extremely unpopular, polls at the time showed 78% of people wanted it abolished

The Poll Tax was extremely unpopular, polls at the time showed 78% of people wanted it abolished So hundreds of thousands out of what 36 million voters, where is the democratic mandate? It was about 200,000 in London and about 50,000 in Glasgow.. So the police giving lawful instruction to organisers and closing down tube stations for safety reasons makes it the fault of the police that people act violently. The Community charge was unpopular but that does not make it against the wishes of the electorate most especially since it was a manifesto promise.
