Bulgarian nationals, Galina Nikolova, 38, Stoyan Stoyanov, 27, Tsvetka Todorova, 52, Gyunesh Ali, 33, and Patritsia Paneva, 26, pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering for their involvement in a multi-million-pound scam on the benefit system.

If you're amongst those who believe that economic growth is good no matter what, then you should be applauding these entrepreneurial immigrants. Not only have their business activities stimulated an increase in GDP but their investments in luxury cars, watches, jewellery etc will have had a knock-on effect in the wider economy.
Isn't this what neo-liberal economics, as promoted by all mainstream parties, is supposed to be all about?

These five Bulgarian scumbags essentially got away with it. Think about it, they nicked £54 million and were jailed for 25 years, that's not 25 years each. The sentences for all five of them add up to 25 years. One of them, Tsvetka Todorova, who had spent less than two years on remand was released immediately because the judge said she was only responsible for stealing £264,000! To be perfectly honest I'm surprised the judge didn't award her compensation because yes, we are that stupid. I'll tell you something, after looking at these sentences every Bulgarian criminal will be laughing and booking one way flights to Londonistan. We must be the easiest country in the world not only to enter, but to con out of £millions. The chances of being caught are minimal and in the unlikely event you are caught, what's a couple of years in prison compared to having £millions stashed away in some Bulgarian bank account. The government, the courts, the 'establishment' are utterly incompetent. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13476125/bulgarian-benefit-fraudsters-fake-id-scam-jailed.html

If money is stolen from the benefits system, claimants are not told 'sorry there's no money left'. If money is stolen, the benefits bill goes up. Pillock.

So what happens when the benefit bill goes up then? well for a start you will be crying about single mothers and the government will try and come up with more ways of lowering the benefits bill. Which in turn will affect those most in need.

And with net migration running at 670,000 excluding tens of thousands of criminals crossing the channel and a Labour government on the horizon, the benefits bill is only going one way.

No just pointing out a fact, if you cheat the benefits system you take food from the mouths of those in real need, I am just eating some Kent cherries delicious. You see the Bulgarians see it as a victimless crime, but it certainly isn't. The poor will be affected by it sooner or later.

I had some foreigners working on my place. One of them came from a place so remote that even he could not find it on the map. But they worked hard, were competent and their rates were reasonable, so I was happy to recommend them to friends, the same way other friends had recommended them to me.
I have met a few folk who seem to think that because they have lived in Little Snoring for ever and ever, they should go to the head of the employment queue. After mature thought and consideration, I can't help but feel that is a load of old bollocks

Immigration is estimated to yield £3.3 billion annually for public ... There is a balance sheet, it may yield X amount but the direct cost is Y. Y of course would be all the debits, crime, benefits, social cohesion, translation services, health and of course all the long term intangible effects such as social unrest and the homogeneity of the electorate.
