In another thread see 2 casts doubt on my assumption that Britain is by default conservative, well lets measure it. I havent the time, but arnt voting numbers made public. ? Lets say from the 1950s, can anyone total up the numbers, in general elections, how many, in that time to the present, voted conservative and how many labour. I would guess that about a third more vote blue. Tony Blair said that Labour are a party of protest, and thats all there is. Im good at predictions, even when faced with cast iron evidence contrary to the lefts belief, denial and resistance will rule, indeed, those things must function to show socialism has any sort of credibility. Whatever the figures are, someone will question it. And the thing that irks me, finance, that even when faced with constant financial irresposibility when running the country, its explained away as someone elses fault, projection. Mental defence mechanisms are used by the mentally ill because reality is too hard to bear. More people voted for centrist or leftist parties in 2019 than rightist parties. So what's the difference between the left and the so called right these days Andy? |

They won't invite their mates to be paid billions for PPE?
They won't have parties during a national lockdown?
They won't spend millions on a failed Rwanda scheme?
Won't make unfunded tax cuts at the budget?
Won't appoint sex pests to senior positions?
Won't have six families trying to undermine the party?
Won't create agreements with other countries that undermine our farming industry?

The British are largely Conservative. Unfortunately for Rishi Sunak and Co, many of them will vote Labour I don't think Conservatives that dont vote for Rishi will vote labour , I think Conservatives will vote for anyone but Labour or not at all . It will be interesting to see what Labours actual numbers are rather than their % . I reckon they will win with a slight increase in numbers and large increase in % as the conservative vote falls away . I think Britain is generally middle of the road centralist on most issues , maybe conservative on law and order and immigration and socialist on healthcare and the environment ,the rest of it pretty much down the middle |
