The Criminal Justice Bill is a new piece of legislation being introduced by the Government. The Bill contains new powers for police and local authorities to enforce against so-called 'nuisance rough sleeping' in England and Wales. These powers include being moved on, a fine up to £2,500 and even imprisonment. I'm pleased to say the government is facing a back bench rebellion. www.crisis.org.uk/get-involved/campaign/the-criminal-justice-bill-and-homelessness/I just cant work this out. The government allow hundreds of thousands of foreign illegals to land on English beaches, the hotel bill alone is £15 million a day. They are provided with free dental & medical care, free food and accommodation, free mobile phones and given pocket money. While at the same time the government are attempting to introduce legislation that will penalize people who are unfortunate enough to be sleeping on park bench's and in shop doorways. Is it me? What the hell has gone wrong?.. What makes me laugh about this is how do they expect a guy without as much as 20p in his pocket to pay a £2,500 fine ? The devil in me would like to see this play out but its (like most of this governments policies) badly thought through and like you am glad there is a backlash against it . They should have stopped the first boat that tried landing on the beach at Dover ,fished the people out of the water and dumped them back in France and that would have been the end of it .We now have a situation that is being controlled by criminals and a weak government that doesn't know its arse from its elbow . The least they should now be doing is treating the illegal migrants as the criminals that they are ,not guests at the holiday camp UK .

The police can easily check out if someone is genuinely homeless or not, if they are then they have no chance of getting £2,500, if someone is pretending to be homeless just to get money then fine him £2,500, working on that principal there should only be genuine homeless on the streets.

Ah that's different . Beggars should be marched off to cleansing units , they can use Churches seeing as nobody else does ,scrubbed down with Ajax and force fed KFC . That will teach them.
