If you'd have read the link I provided, you would have realised that what you just wrote was incorrect. You can vote at either property... I suggest you read your link again... 'If you split your time between two homes, you may be able to register to vote at both addresses.'she was not registered to vote at both addresses.

She should step down while the allegations are being investigated. Guilty or not, she's a distraction during election campaigning...

Angela Rayner's son registered on electoral roll at property she claimed she didn't live inAngela Rayner's eldest son was listed on the electoral roll at a property in which she claimed she did not live. The electoral register shows that the MP's son, then in his late teens, was registered as living at an address in Stockport with his stepfather, rather than in the property that the Labour deputy was registered as living at. www.gbnews.com/politics/angela-rayner-council-house-investigation-sonHowever, in spite of the ongoing police investigation, Labour insists - nothing to see here folks, move along.

Labour 'destroyed' documents that could have revealed Angela Rayner’s addressLabour has destroyed important documents that would have shone a much-needed light on where Angela Rayner claimed to be living when she applied to be a parliamentary candidate, it has been claimed. The revelation comes two days after the party refused to publish the documents, amid the ongoing row and police investigation into the deputy leader. This afternoon [Thursday 18 Apr] the Telegraph reported that Labour had destroyed the documents. A Labour spokesman said the papers were “disposed of” in line with data protection laws, closing down another possible avenue for clarification about Ms Rayner’s living situation. www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1889964/Labour-documents-angela-rayner-destroyedThe stench surrounding this scandal is becoming overpowering. How long will she continue to brazen it out, and for how much longer will Starmer continue to support her.

And the Saga continues from todays Mail
Angela Rayner faces renewed pressure after it emerged six of her former neighbours have been questioned by police in the 'two homes' probe.
One resident has even said they are prepared to give evidence in court contradicting the account of the Labour deputy leader.
Ms Rayner maintains that an ex-council house she sold for a £48,500 profit in 2015 was her 'principal property'.
But neighbours say she was actually living at her husband's house a mile away.
Police are now investigating potential breaches of electoral law, a failure to pay capital gains tax and whether a single-occupancy council tax discount was falsely claimed by Ms Rayner.
She faces renewed pressure after it emerged six of her former neighbours have been questioned by police in the 'two homes' probe
She claims legal advice she received exonerates her from any wrongdoing, and has said that if the police find she has broken the law she will stand down as Sir Keir Starmer's number two.
Several of her former neighbours in Stockport, Greater Manchester, have now been spoken to by officers, The Mail on Sunday revealed yesterday.
At least five former neighbours to Angela Rayner have told police she did not live in the house she claimed was her home - as one says he will testify in court
Among them is Chris Hinett, who recalls Ms Rayner telling him she was the landlady of the ex-council house in Vicarage Road, which is at the centre of the probe, after he intervened when another neighbour's son kicked a football through a window of the house.
'She told me she was the landlady of the house and her brother lived there, and he wasn't strong enough to deal with the likes of us,' the 64-year-old said.
'I have given a statement to the police, and I said to them I am happy to say in court that she told me she was the landlady.
'If she says she lived at Vicarage Road, I am saying she is a liar.'

I wonder why the Tories are being so quiet about this? If the boot were on the other foot we all know Labour would be shouting about it from the rooftops. The whips need to get the message out to Tory MP's to start publicly commenting on Rayners tax evasion/electoral fraud.

It all hinges on HMRC. They do their own investigations and will tell her what she needs to do. If they send her a bill with a penalty, she'll resign, I would think. She's braved it out for weeks, she might well stay long enough to be in the new elected Labour government.

Angela Rayner is expected to be questioned under caution by police over the two-homes debacle, it emerged today [12 May 2024] Labour's deputy leader will be quizzed by officers amid allegations that she breached electoral law, failed to pay capital gains tax and falsely claimed a single person's tax discount. Detectives have reportedly contacted her parliamentary office to agree a date to interview her. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13410017/Angela-Rayner-faces-questioned-caution-police-two-homes.htmlSo, last week it was announced that the police will question Rayner under caution. Doesn't seem to be much debate about it in the media, much to Rayner and Starmers relief I'm sure.

By the Police — but read the Greater Manchester Police full statement...:
Published: 15:57 28/05/2024
The following statement can be attributed to a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson:
“Following allegations about Angela Rayner MP, Greater Manchester Police has completed a thorough, carefully considered and proportionate investigation. We have concluded that no further police action will be taken.
“The investigation originated from complaints made by Mr James Daly MP directly to GMP. Subsequent further contact with GMP by members of the public, and claims made by individuals featured in media reporting, indicated a strong public interest in the need for allegations to be investigated.
“Matters involving council tax and personal tax do not fall into the jurisdiction of policing. GMP has liaised with Stockport Council and information about our investigation has been shared with them. Details of our investigation have also been shared with His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).”

So she got away with it then What a surprise Or they didn’t find that she did anything wrong, which was what she claimed in the first place. Feel free to reach your own conclusion.
