Pressure builds on Angela Rayner over house sale row as senior Labour figure says deputy leader should ask HMRC to investigateAngela Rayner should ask HM Revenue and Customs to investigate her murky property dealings, a senior Labour figure has said. The party's deputy leader has come under pressure to release tax advice and other documents related to the sale of her former council home – with some in her own party said to be increasingly restless over the issue. Senior Tories have called for more transparency on it, which may have seen her dodge capital gains tax, wrongly claim a council tax discount and possibly breach election law. Now a Labour figure has called for her to disclose the advice she was given and ask HMRC to investigate amid fears it could overshadow the party's local election campaign. linkI'm pleased to say the stink from Rayners tax avoidance hypocrisy is not going away. It is also becoming obvious that Starmer is doing his best to distance himself from it.

But all that pales into almost insignificance compared to peerages for cash, rebelling MPs, calls for discredited seven-attempts Farage, or a returning Boris to replace an unpopular PM…

And besides, it's not just alleged tax evasion. Possible electoral fraud is on the cards. How long do you think Raynor has got lol...

My bet is on the proven breaking of rules by the PM who brought them in, and his inability to get his staff to recognise the seriousness of the situation so that they continued their partying. If Rayner gave incorrect information to avoid paying £1500 of tax then she is no better than the Tories who she called scum . She’s just not as adept as them .
