www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68669866It's dropped from a high of 70% in 2010 to 24% My personal satisfaction with the NHS is approaching zero. As Rishi said soon after he became PM: "The problem with the NHS is the administration". I was "escorted" out of my GP surgery by the doctor who is the "dominant dictatorial mind" there. I've been told by Age UK that I can see a specialist privately for £150 ... who can then arrange to treat me on the NHS if I need treatment for my non-Kidney health issue. He also works for the NHS.

Labour making quite a bit of play about this survey - pity they cannot explain why satisfaction in Wales where they control the NHS is even lower than in England.

In the run-up to the 2010 general election, David Cameron promised voters that he would not cut funding to the NHS.
He kind of kept that promise, technically, and in such a way as to allow the Tories to thoroughly decieve the electorate.
The NHS got a very tiny ( fraction of 1% ) increase, but in the small print of that Spending Review was a commitment to hand over approx £1 Billion from the NHS budget to the Social Care budget, which effectively wiped out any increase in NHS spending.
On top of the cuts, the government firstly froze the pay of NHS staff, and then offered below inflation pay rises, this went on for over ten years. They also altered the terms and conditions of most NHS nurses and doctors.
The combined result of these policies led directly to growing waiting lists, very poor staff morale, staff leaving the NHS to go and work elsewhere.
On top of all this, Brexit did much harm to NHS staff shortages, just as it has done in Social Care
This government have got the REVERSE MIDAS TOUCH ... Everything they have touched has turned to shit, they have wrecked all of our public services, wrecked the economy and wrecked everything else from living standards to our standing in the world.

My partner has had two deep brain tumours removed. To cut a long story short, there was no shunt care, she developed acute hydrocephalus, sufferd brain damage and is now bed bound, doubly incontinent, progresively dementing, low BP and has lost her balance.
All of this has been covered up, as far as the NHS is concerned all is well, thats not the whole story though, lawyers are on the case. This morning i put her in the bath she having soiled and wet the bed.
We are not where we should be which is in sunnier climes.
But here is the kicker, that if you develop serious problems, you wont get the care you need, the NHS is a disaster. The Tories, as mentioned above dont care, they kill people through not reforming the NHS. You are funding admin.

Sorry to hear that about your partner, IMHO the NHS has been failing us for a long time Blairs slogan was 24 hours to save the NHS , little if any improvement when they were in Government, its problems have have increased due to the size of the population , bad organization, industrial action, staff leaving hence longer waiting lists and all the pressure on it from Covid and an increasing ageing population

The problem is that there is not one easily identified and managed NHS. There are separate NHS regimes in England, Scotland and Wales — the last two appear to be performing less well than NHS activities in England.
Even in England there are different trusts and organisations running NHS services, with GP practices mainly subcontracting their services to the local body.
I can’t think of another developed country with a giant free-at-the-point-of-delivery service like the NHS. Nevertheless within Europe, healthcare treatment outcome are generally accepted to be better than in the UK. Could it be that along with radical reorganisation, charging for treatment and medication, and higher taxation (generally the case in countries with better healthcare) are the ways to bring UK health services up to the standard of the best…?
