This is not really popular maths or anything. It's one of those ultra-low viewcount videos coming up on my Youtube search. I was wondering if dubdrifter might find it interesting.
The basic idea is we feel like we live in a Euclidean geometry where we have 3 space dimensions and one of time, so we call that R3 x R. You have the modification that gravity bends the space, but general relativity is still 4D. String theory they say has 6 extra dimensions which are C3 so that is like R3 but the real dimensions are replaced with complex dimensions, so you get the 6 in total. There are some other constraints as well but that leaves us still with a large number of spaces that could be these extra 6 dimensions. For each type of space we can characterise it in certain ways, as per one characterisation is the number of holes in it. A toroidal space has one hole in it, but there are a finite number of spaces with different numbers of holes. I'm just sketching the idea here, but the video gives you the details. It turns out that there are thousands of different spaces but they exhibit a symmetrical property when you plot them out. This is so weird. You often get this in maths where weird patterns turn up which are hard to explain and in something you would expect just to see random dots on a plot, like the fabled order from chaos.
Anyway, for those interested, this is modern maths, like 1990 I think he said.

At the end of the day, … aren’t all these conceptual other dimensions mentioned in the video above, basically just 3D as well? …. Are they a ‘new space’ … a new dimension? … or simply a way to describe non-physically restricted, layered multiverses, interconnected by portals(wormholes)where ethereal entity exists (spirit?) … and other unknown multiverse forces lie, yet to be discovered? ******************** I’ve personally experienced the ‘reality’ of objects in my 3D Universe ‘disappearing temporarily’ from sight and touch. … ie. dropping out of my personal 3D world … and into possibly another dimension(?) … Once in my house, hat and gloves disappeared from sight and touch off a clothes hook by my front door for an unknown period … when I returned after work … 8 hrs later, …they were back in my 3D Universe. Another occasion, 3 months later, lab work I was about to deliver to a dentist practice in Dudley, UK … just temporarily disappeared for a much shorter period … then reappeared pretty much in exactly the same spot as before … intact, undamaged … a few minutes later. Once you come to terms your senses weren’t ‘playing up’ … and get over the shock … and realise this has only happened in 2 instances that delay a journey … you draw the conclusion some ‘entity’ either created a local temporary glitch in that object’s ‘time-line’ … (to shift my working timeline) …and/or a worm hole was engineered to temporarily removing it someplace else! … the 4th dimension (t) TIME dropping it in another resonant 3D ‘space’ in another multiverse possibly? ….where it lodged temporarily, invisible to sight and touch … remote from my physical reality. … but to me … I’m happy we live in a physical Universe of 3 dimensions - x,y,z, …. and (t) is just a hypothetical human construct … because mostly when WE move from point A => point B … in that transition, however fast we go, we are still locked in our 3D space … we never REALLY end up in a 4th dimension… and a second ticks forwards at a metronomic conceptual pace … a second as measured by our flawed clocks … moving relentlessly forward only, evenly … never backwards (whatever the gravity conditions) What was interesting - when the hat and gloves and bag of lab work dropped back into my 3D Universe… it was unaltered in any way … suggesting it wasn’t disassembled into it’s elemental particles … (as illustrated by teleportation in a Star Trek scenario) … a risky exercise because Matter runs the risk of being scrambled by magnetic and gravitational effects, possibly Dark Energies, likely causing alarming problems with ‘perfect reassembly’! So what made this happen?… Why? … and How did it happen? … I’ll let Members jump in … at this point in their 3D space occupancy … and answer that one … in their own conceptual time! 😋

My brother's wife has experienced the same thing.
An old family hairbrush went completely missing for several weeks. The disappearance prompted a thorough search of the entire house because the item has significant sentimental value, even perhaps real antique value.
My brother's wife, after giving up entirely ever finding the item, was sitting at her computer when she heard a dull thud on the carpet next to her chair. The hairbrush was laying next to the chair in easy view

My brother's wife, after giving up entirely ever finding the item, was sitting at her computer when she heard a dull thud on the carpet next to her chair. The hairbrush was laying next to the chair in easy view That is interesting. … clearly these objects are being temporarily ‘relocated’ in another dimension not visible to sight or touch. … but maybe detectable to hearing and smell senses?? See below. Experiences many people have recorded. … I was talking to a couple who were very friendly with an old guy, Joe, who smoked heavily and owned a shop they were interested in buying. When he eventually passed on and no longer needed it, they moved into the flat above … and were constantly experiencing objects being moved around, strange sounds and keys going missing one minute, reappearing the next. They also had strong smells of cigarette smoke periodically permeating the main room … This opens up the question about what Reality and Space is … spirit and multi-dimensions. A group of phenomena that science and The Public has been programmed to ignore for centuries … by Religious totalitarianism that strangles our Administration. In physics terms … are things from these other dimensions hiding objects by resonating them at different frequencies our senses cannot detect? … beyond the peripheries of human perception … but not always beyond the scope of other animal sensory systems?? ~ It’s an interesting idea, worth exploring. … Domestic cats and dogs seem to have a higher consciousness in certain areas … and maybe haven’t had their ESP genetically modified by interference from multi-dimensional forces?? … or entities operating in our own 3D Universe.
