Cut electricity and telecoms to all Russian embassies until the attacks on Ukraine stop. In principle I agree. However, an attack on an Embassy is seen as an attack on the sovereign nations to whom the Embassy belongs. That could start war. All The Best

Cut electricity and telecoms to all Russian embassies until the attacks on Ukraine stop. Its a thought but lines of communication need to be kept open and the embassy people ,diplomats and suchlike are likely to be the best bet for decent relations going forward .

Like it vinny, im all for taking the initiative, getting in these a ssholes faces. Give them something to think about, cause them a problem, send an untracable letter with a picture of a russian diplomat with a gun sight trained on them.
Like it. Or a picture of Putin swinging from a rope. Scare those pigs.

Terribly sorry, forgot to include the Chinese Communist dictatorship. Cut power and telecoms to the embassies of all dictatorships.

Good idea ... and if every European nation, every NATO ally, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, many African, Asian and South American nations all did the same as a mark of protest, would Russia declare war on all of them ?, I think not.
However, there are other potential ideas which Putin would certainly not like, such as financing the many opposition and break-away movements inside the Russian Federation, in particular is The Caucases, give him a headache.

Well, Russia would not need to declare war. Those nations would have already done so by attacking an Embassy - with is classed as Sovereign Territory of the nation it serves. Still, why lets facts get in the way, eh? All The Best

The way dictatorships, bullying, aggresion of any sort is defeated is by numbers. If you rag enough people up, like Russia, they will turn on you and defeat you, Ceacescue the Romanian dictator was a prime example, he was chased down a street, Gaddafi etc. The populace of Russia and the anti putin people gather more recruits every day. You cant rule with the people against you.
And the world, very few if any countries that are democratic back Russia, maybe India, but they will turn if the cheap oil stops.

Why cut electricity? If diplomacy has failed tell them all to get out and take back the embassy into British ownership.

426 Russian diplomats have been expelled by 29 countries (ours hasn't expelled any). What's the difference between expelling diplomats and cutting power to an embassy?
Russian spies have been operating in our country under diplomatic cover, so have assassins.
Do something about the bastards. Either kick them out or cut them off.

I mean, Putin has clearly been doing that in the US and Europe for quite some time, and to some level of success - It's probably about time, and only seems fair that we start doing the same in return. I'd probably guess the only reason we've not employed this to good effect is because the idea of a fragmented Russia, isn't a good one, because that means Nukes in the hands of all kinds of people.

A post dictatorship Russia should be steered back towards international cooperation with the offer of free trade. Assisted to stabilise, root out corruption, prosecute killers, and return stolen money to the nation, for education, hospitals, roads etc. They already have FTAs with other dictatorships. It's in their best interests to do FTAs with democracies like ourselves.
