These wallies are always trying to test the bounds of devolution aren't they?
They're calling for a 'Scotland-Ukraine defence support scheme' although details are a bit thin as of yet. I wasn't aware that Scotland had a defence industry of its own but perhaps they can resurrect the long dormant sector of claymore and lochaber production just for the Ukrainian market. Well-packed tins of shortbread could also make dangerously lethal projectiles if hurled with enough force.
In yet another outbreak of high-grade delusion, Angus Robertson, erstwhile 'Depute' Leader of the SNP is quoted in The Times when launching a paper on an independent Scotland’s place in the world:
"[Scotland is] committed to a new state spending 2 per cent of GDP on defence, in line with Nato guidelines. He said that an independent Scotland would be welcomed into the alliance despite pledging to remove the Trident nuclear deterrent from the Clyde."
Hahaha. Comedy Gold.
