BBC forced to issue apology to Reform UK after branding party 'far right'The BBC has been forced to issue an apology to Reform UK after the broadcaster labelled the populist party "far-right" saying the article fell short of its "editorial standards". Reform UK leader Richard Tice labelled the remarks as "defamatory and libellous", adding lawyers were in touch with the broadcaster. He said: “The BBC has apologised following an intervention from my lawyers. Concerns about the BBC's reporting has returned to the fore in recent months, particularly after refusing to call Hamas a terrorist organisation and being forced to issue an apology to Nigel Farage over his Coutts debanking scandal last year. link Isn't it about time Ofcom investigated the left wing minority appeasing BBC?

I thought the point was the BBC stated their charter or whatever did not allow the affixation of labels to any group to allow the listener to make up their own minds yet throw false labels like anti-immigrant and far-right around with gay abandon. Another example of the hypocrisy of those on the righteous left.

Ofcom file any complaint about the BBC in the bin.

Wiki carries a lost of countries that declare Hamas terrorists. The vast majority of the world does not, so for the sake of accuracy the BBC is right not to. I do agree with Tice over the Far Right slur. The thing is in this game you have to aim your shots accurately. Tice seems to have them by the balls, so well done there.

The 'British' Broadcasting Corporation is governed by UK law, not Wikipedia, and UK law says Hamas are terrorists. There is no grey area. So it would be OK to say then 'Hamas, which is described as a terrorist organisation under UK law, did such and such.'
That's more accurate than saying 'Hamas, a terrorist organisation, did such and such.'
The thing is that if you purposefully make sure every time the word Hamas is mentioned that you inform the reader it is terrorist, then that itself becomes a form of bias, because you are brainwashing the reader by repetition.
I know the BBC is most certainly biased, but on this particular issue I think it does a good job. It strikes a balance, bearing in mind most of the world's governments believe it is not.
The problem is you may be seeing it as biased if you compare to GB News, but often GB News itself is brainwashing the listener, so as the reader you lose either way, as in all the bastards are trying to brainwash you. That's my take on the matter. All the mainstream broadcasters are at it, and Channel 4 should get a special mention as well. They are worse than the BBC sometimes. The difference is GB News are armatures and the BBC are slick pros. They know the law inside out. They have expensive media lawyers to check it all, so rarely can you hold the BBC bang to rights on a definite fact. What they do is they use legal loopholes. This is the pro approach: do it t the max without risk of falling foul of Ofcom. By the way, I am holder of one upheld complaint to the BBC myself on bias. After that they did seem to stop what they were playing at on the particular issue I raised. The complain was aimed at Andrew Neil.
