Not going so well for the doom goblin and her ECO nuts these days.
One of the last defences for climate protesters who commit criminal damage has been effectively removed by the court of appeal. The court said the “beliefs and motivation” of a defendant do not constitute lawful excuse for causing damage to a property. The defence that a person honestly believes the owner of a property would have consented had they known the full circumstances of climate change has been used successfully over the last year by protesters.

This is bullshit. It is using emotive metaphors like slippery slope + erosion and relies on the nebulous concept of our imagined constitution. Well mate, we are not living in the US of A. Who are his advisers I wonder. Also bullshit is the court does not have to consider the merits of future changes to the law. Each change in the law is decided separately upon what that change is, not an imagined horror. That's fiction.
Also if you look at the case law on this, you get stuff like his bush was growing in my garden and he has neatly trimmed most of it but can not reach around the fence so I finished the job off for him and now it looks right, I'm sure he would appreciate it.
or one like this:
My neighbour was out of his property, but he had left a young child in bed and the house was burning down so I did a running kick to his front door and smashed it to pieces, but I saved his child, I'm sure he won't mind.
