Glass repair chief leads Labour to record £13m private donations ahead of election.....
The Labour Party bolstered its election war chest by over £13m last year thanks to record private donations.
Autoglass boss Gary Lubner led the charge as he donated £4.5m to the party, having previously pledged to give more to Labour before an election.
Speaking to the Financial Times last year, the South African-born businessman – whose grandparents were Jewish refugees – said he had been appalled by the scale of antisemitism in the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership and praised Keir Starmer for ridding the party of its “cancer”.

The Labour Party has been criticised after accepting another £1 million donation from ex-Just Stop Oil backer Dale Vince. The energy tycoon handed the money to Starmer's party in November, figures have shown.
Tory MP Philip Davies told GB News that voters should be "very worried" about the "sway" that he claims "political extremists" have over the party.
Davies told GB News: “Behind the facade, political extremists still have huge sway over the Labour Party.
"Starmer is a net zero fanatic and his policies would make people poorer and incur huge costs.
