It is where the M1 ends and leads into London and by God it is bleak. Everything is grey and glum and with potholes the size of the Hyde Park boating lake and it is the entrance to the best city in all the world, but has all the charm of a totally charm free zone.
We ought to paint the bridges and plant flower gardens and have children handing out sweets to visitors, but we don't.
A massively uninspiring shit hole

That is Brent Cross. Brent Cross is full of women who are out shopping and adding to the gaiety of the nation because women really, really enjoy shopping. But you can't see inside it from the North Circular and the bit where the M1 hits London is still bloody glum

Where the M1 hits London is at Brent Cross. I'm exactly right.
My point is there's already a lot of regeneration going on there.

A massively uninspiring shit hole Staples Corner means nothing to me, although I have heard of Brent Cross. However, courtesy of wiki... Staples Corner is a major road junction in London, United Kingdom. It is about 6.3 miles north-west from Charing Cross and directly to the west of the Brent Cross crossover. It is within the Brent Cross Cricklewood new town.
Should we assume you have had a recent sojourn to NW4 Borchester? Brave of you.

A massively uninspiring shit hole I totally agree. I used to pass through it regularly for work and it's been a shit hole for decades.

I have gone through it once, in the 1990’s, in a car with CD plates driven by a bloke in the pay of the United Nations in possession of a diplomatic passport.
It is on a par with bits of ghettos in Leeds.

It is on a par with bits of ghettos in Leeds. At about the same time I was peddling along the nearby Hendon Flyover when a lady from the Crown Prosecution Service ran me down, which resulted in me getting £2000 compensation and a new mountain bike. That was before the compensation culture really got underway and when mountain bikes were quite the thing, so I was well pleased about both and for a long time was quite sentimental about West Hendon. But as the years went by, cold reality set in and I had to admit that levelling the west side of the M1 as far as the Welsh Harp and turning it into allotments might not be a bad idea.

It is a shit hole and has been a shithole ever since they invented shit holes because every time folk realise it is a shit hole and think aha, why is this place a shit hole, you and your mates look through your miasma of self pity and squeal, it is the Tories, it is all the fault of the Tories !

A great place where the RAF would use any excuse to send para gliders to land almost in front of crowds of delighted kids. Plus, it is a considerable distance from Staples Corner
