Has people gained there feedom they torn down memorials to past despot leaders like iraq did following the overflow of saddam. In latvia at the moment there pulling down memorials to the old Soviet rule. We in this country have seen protesters pull down statue to people who made there money though slave trade. Khan the major of London changing street names who bear former slave traders. Is it time that we has a nation torn ourseleves from our imperial past by taring down monuments of our imperial past . Iike the statue of winston Churchill who overseen the famine of 3 million people in Bangal Bombing the kurdish uprishing in 1920 with poisoning gas. The Tonpandy riots where British troops fired upon mining rioters. Plus other atrocities he was responsible for. A If people feel strongly about statues let them campaign to have them removed, however direct action to remove them is criminality however well intentioned. I suspect most people do not have any knowledge about the statues and this is driven by politics on the Left to paint traditional society and therefore the government of the day as being corrupt and racist. It is politics painted as human rights.............

Well thank you guys it seems most of you support such action against the war criminal Churchill. How on earth was that your takeaway from the posts that preceded this statement?

Greek Philosophy
Max was a Greek sheep farmer - he was a very charitable man, he helped to build the village school, he looked after his neighbours, chopped firewood for them; In December he cut down fir trees on his land and delivered the Christmas trees to the school, Church, village hall, old peoples home and hospital.
When Max was 18 years old, he got really drunk one night, staggered home, but on his way he decided to experiment with a Sheep.
Max was never known as "The Kind Man" or "The Christmas Tree Man", he became known as "Max the Sheep Shagger" ------------------------------------------------------ Churchill was not pure evil, or a tyrant, or a dictator, but he did make mistakes, and he made errors of judgement.
Churchills decision to send troops to Tonypandy was wrong, it was an error of judgement, and even today some communities in South Wales wont forgive.
The British were complicit in the Bengal famine, the British could have done more, but we did not cause the famine, a lot of the causes were comparable to a gathering storm, and I dont think Churchill could be blamed for it.
Politics is a funny old game, and what some on the Left ( normally the far Left ) fail to grasp, is that Churchill is widely admired amongst the "working classes".
