I purchased a car I am not going to use until the summer, so I tried to sorn it until then, so went online tried to sorn when I purchased it, it said you don't need this service as your vehicle is already on sorn, great I thought, this was on the 4th of February, so yesterday I arrived home and a letter from DVLA was waiting for me, you had better either tax it or sorn it or a £1000 fine awaits you, so I tried to sorn it again, same answer you don't need this service it is already sorned, OK I thought better contact DVLA, this by the way is not such an easy task, as you have to phone them on a premium rate phone number which can cost as much as 65 pence per minute, anyway faced with my £1000 fine I thought to hell with it lets sort it out.
So ring the number I do, which puts you through an automated service after picking the right numbers on the keyboard for sorn, which I did so pushing the number to say the information was correct, it told me I couldn't do it as guess what? so then it said I would need to speak with an adviser, which would be at least 10 minutes on this premium line, or I could ask for a call back within 30 minutes, as that would be better, I thought, but I must be near the phone, ok no problem, guess what? 2 hours later still no call back!
Ah I thought they have realised they have threatened me made it impossible to fix it and have made it so I can now sorn it, so tried again but guess what? nope still the same!
So, I thought I had better have a quick look online and see if it says sorn, nope it says tax due from 4th of February. Yours a truly fecked up sheep.
Oh I did try the rip off premium number again, it let me go through the said process again, then said we are closed now, fecking degenerates.
Aha I hear you say, you could email them, so I went through the process of doing so which told you expect to hear from them sometime in the future at some date not yet set, ten minutes later? I received an email asking how they had faired? I have so far resisted the temptation to reply as they will probably not take the truth very well.
Tried twice this morning on said premium number both times said I cannot do it and would be passed to an adviser, which then says due to high demand we cannot take your call, goodbye, now I am getting fucking frustrated.
