Our MPs are, in large part, responsible for the present shambles in our country, so why should they receive special protection that the rest of us don't have. Remove the protection and they might do something that we all benefit from.

We pay taxes for the police, we aren't even protected by them, we are basically policing ourselves, and eventually when the plod do roll up they are useless, you have to go and find your own stolen car/bikes/property, we aren't even getting a basic police force, and here's the PMs wanting personal protection using tax payers money ....... cheeky tw@s

Keith David Palmer GM (3 October 1968 – 22 March 2017)[1][2] was a British police officer who was posthumously awarded the George Medal, the second-highest award for gallantry "not in the face of the enemy". Though unarmed, he stopped Khalid Masood, a knife-wielding terrorist from entering the Palace of Westminster during the 2017 Westminster attack; he was fatally wounded in the attack.[3][4] He had worked for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) for 16 years, and had joined the force's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Group in April 2016.[3]

I'd be more interested in questioning why those MP's like Diane Abbott and Peter Hain who incited their supporters to violence targeted against those not of their political view should be entited to protection provided by the forces of law and order.

Whatever we may think of our MPs, they are part of our democratic machinery, and any MP who openly criticises terrorist groups such as Hamas, or criticises the murderous actions of the IDF, should not have to face threats.
We are a free society, and we are all entitled to our genuinely held concerns and opinions, within the framework of what is a legitimate concern, and simply not either Antisemitic or Islamophobic.
Of course MPs should be given adequate safety measures

Security at the Royal Palace of Westminster was greatly increased after Airy Neave was murdered by the IRA by a bobby trap was placed on his car that detonated when he drove up the ramp from the car park beneath the Palace.
There are Security Officers and Police some armed 24/7 they also have Police Sniffer Dogs that can detect explosives in both the Commons and Lords Chambers before the MP's and Lords go in.
The MP's and Lords more often than not arrive on foot and via Public Transport or Taxi to the gates, that is where they are very vulnerable , also as we know at the Constituency Office, or visits walkabouts etc.
I agree with Witchfinder like it not they need better security from those who are a danger to our Democracy

Absolutely, Labour fuck up and expect the tax payers to fund their mistakes, because of them they've put ever man, woman and child in danger in the UK, because they've allowed their Muslim voters to 'take control', and now Labour are the Muslim party and the party for terrorists, Labour will only have two choices, disband Labour and re-invent themselves, or distance themselves completely from Palestine/Hamas/ISIS terrorists, and get back to basics, represent the white working class voter, it's their choice, but they can't visit their problems on the UK tax payers.

We Taxpayers always end up footing the bill no matter which bunch of idiots we vote for, the only money the Government has is ours.
That is why I have always advocated that the Voting Slips should have a extra box to tick " None of the above " that may just get through to them if enough tick that box

I agree. Politicians have brought this on themselves. Even leaving aside the Islamist threat, there's Net Zero, 15 minute cities, the coming food crisis. All supported by both sides of the house, all introduced without mandate. These things can, do and will have a profound effect on the lives of ordinary people and politicians need to learn that that doesn't come without cost. And if it takes a few of them getting a good hiding then so be it. It isn't the mob destroying democracy, our politicians already have that well under way.
