Or maybe, just maybe, the police, whilst investigating, came to a different conclusion than you? Afterall, they'd already investigated once, a Tory MP asked them to investigate again, but couldn't be specific as to why. It can't be that much therefore of a surprise that they came to the same conclusion. I'm unsure what it's got to do with Kier Starmer? She hasn't been ''cleared'' , far from it Her apparent cgt tax evasion is not (and has never been) a police matter - It's a HMRC matter to deal with |

I don't believe for one moment there was no wrong doing, her neighbours were adamant about that, unless you are going to accuse them of being bias Tory voters, I doubt Rayner would be living in a all Tory housing estate given her working class roots that she's always bleating about.
It all boils down to it's... 'not what you know, it's who you know' ... and she couldn't be more well connected than her boss being the ex-DPP ..... LOL what a mockery.
So, here's the thing. You admit you'd already made your mind up. But rather than admit that you'd jumped the gun in leaping to conclusions, you try and invent a conspiracy theory instead. 🤔🤪🙄 No, I would have been more than surprised if she had been found guilty of wrong doing, I know you hate it but many of us predicted she would be get off with it, now had it been Johnson or a Tory MP we know they would have been hung drawn and quartered. ....... My understanding is that there are three investigations being conducted, one by the Manchester Police, one by Stockport Council and one by HMRC, now I recall earlier that there is a time limit on this alleged crime, so even if there was some evidence of wrong doing Ms Raynor is not likely to be charged by the Police.
The Police have stated that they are taking no further action and have passed details of their investigation on to HMRC, so that now leaves two investigations being carried out, HMRC into possible CGT irregularities, and the Council into whether Ms Raynor misrepresented her circumstances over the purchase and sale of her discounted council house.
So it is not over yet, due to the sensitivity around Ms Raynor I dare all parties concerned are ensuring that all investigations are being carried out scrupulously fairly. It is pleasing however that Ms Raynor appears to be keeping a low profile, long may that continue, the election is tedious enough without foul mouthed slatterns bellowing abuse all over the television screens.
