The By Election and its sad result is a symptom of "The Culture Wars" whereby a large section of our society has polarized between Pro-Israel and Pro-Palestinian.

Further complicated by by Labour been Over-Sensetive to accusations of Antisemitism.

This is precisely what Azhar Ali said ....."The Egyptians are saying that they warned Israel ten days earlier... Americans warned them a day before [that] there's something happening... They deliberately took the security off, they allowed... that massacre that gives them the green light to do whatever they bloody want"

Seriously, has Ali said something (anything) in that statement which can be interpreted as Antisemitic ?

The result was pretty much predictable, Galloway attracted almost all of the local Muslim vote, a constituency where 30% of the population is Muslim.

As for what Mr Ali stated, this was information which was floating around on social media at the time when Ali said what he said, and had been quoted on some news sites.

Its a One-Off, a peculiarity, an oddball result with lots of complications, and it should not be a distraction

Of course you can't question your own lack of intelligence, your lack of it is the very reason why. I only insult posters who insult others. So don't make things appear more than what they are. 

Just look at the amount of demonstrators up and down the land carrying Palestinian Flags.

And look at the lack of demonstrations by these people against the Arab terrorists that slaughtered so many Israelis on the 7th Oct.

I easily read the Rochdale result before the election, my money was on Galloway. The reasoning was quite straight forward, Rochdale has a high Muslim Arab electorate. Galloway is a Muslim creep. Then there was the fact that Starmer had not explicitly called for a cease fire in Gaza.

But you need to be able to take an objective approach to these issues.

I disagree witch finder. I think the Gaza issue is clearly dear to many normal labour voters , not just muslims , and it could potentially de rail starmers chances of a majority government . There are many normal voters who are horrified by whats happening in the Middle East , and keir starmers stance on it.

Clearly a lot of the chattering classes are reporting that there are many labour mps worried about the party leadership's views , and how it may impact on them come election time. Galloway could be a small taste of whats to come for many of them.

I accept that Starmer is walking a fine line, but I believe that those who would switch votes because of his stance on Gaza are (A) those of the Corbynite wing, and (B) some Muslim voters.

A lot of voters come the general election who may not be happy with Starmers position on Gaza, must surely ask themselves "whats the realistic alternative", and would any alternative simply help the Conservatives, who clearly have some problems with Islamophobia.

Rochdale ( The constituency ) has one of the highest Muslim populations in England at 30%, there are only six Boroughs or council districts in England and Wales where the Muslim population is more than 30%.

For example, where I live the ONLY possible alternative to the Tories is Labour, and if I voted Lib Dem or Green, I would simply be wasting my vote, in other words its the bigger picture, do I want to get rid of the Tories or make a protest, its either one or the other.
