You don't have to go the other side of the world to find somewhere civilised to live, cultured, interesting and with a decent climate. There's France, Italy, Spain, Portugal or Greece, for example. If climate's not an issue, there's always Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium, Germany or Austria. Oh but wait... Oh but wait what ?

I had the opportunity to emigrate to Aus in my twenties, but it's boring as hell and practically everything is illegal. Beer there is really expensive. And the spiders there want to kill everyone. They have some sort of deadly jellyfish as well. It kind of puts you off the huge sandy beeches they have in holiday brochures.

Of course all three Dominions have their indigenous populations, which are not white Anglo Saxons, and again although there is bad history, today these different cultures are celebrated in what are sucessful multi cultural societies ... Canada been the first country in the world to adopt and embrace Mult Culturalism. Maybe we could learn from such a sucessful society Are you suggesting that we should celebrate white anglo saxons as the true indigenous population of the British Isles? The BBC and Guardian would have a fit..

Nowadays it's much harder to be allowed to live in Australia or NZ than decades ago when they had a real shortage of skilled workers. Not if you have the skills, they are short of. In recent years the Chinese set up a load of high tech industry in Australia. I guess it comes with skilled labour as well. The thing is the Brits are not that skilful anymore.

I spent three months touring and working in California in the early 80s, lots of people my age did that then. The couple i stayed with worked three four days a month paving drives and made enough to take the rest of the month off, they surfed, ate out, including breakfast, had a good time.
I could have earned 15 grand a year working evenings in a restaurant washing dishes, they would sponsor me to get a green card.
I got home sick, came back. Theres no place like home, for me the east. As mentioned before theres nowt wrong with britain. So whats wrong? The people who run it. The world that existed in Cali in the early 80s has gone, probably for good, you would be nuts to go abroad, cardboard cities in the US are everywhere, suffering is off the scale.
We need something better, politically.

The thing is the Brits are not that skilful anymore. I very, very seriously doubt that. But then i filled in the paperwork 30 years ago and know where to look and who to ask. Today, The following are skills legally declared by australian stature law to be in short supply. Having proof of them will get you a visa to enter the country to seek work, valid for up to four years with the option to apply for citizenship The list is the same if you have already convinced an australian company to employ you, the fees are less immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list#

Since January 1st, 2021 UK citizens not already officially resident in another EU member state need to apply for a visa for a stay of more that 90 days in a 180-day period. You can't just throw everything in the camper-van and head out for new life in the sun.

If what you say is true then the conclusion is they must lack anyone with any skill that one could get a job in Australia with.
I don't believe it. They are simply saying if you are skilless then don't bother to apply, and if you do have any skill then you might as well have a go. They don't give any indication of acceptance rates.
