The Home Office has built up a stock of 16,000 properties for "asylum seekers" despite acute shortages of homes for young workers and families.Contractors working for the Home Office are offering landlords five-year guaranteed full rent deals to take over the management of properties as they race to transfer asylum seekers out of hotels. The properties, drawn from the private rental and social housing markets, are being used to house more than 58,000 illegals across England, Wales and Scotland - link According to 'The Big Issue', there are nearly 3000 homeless people in England who sleep rough - link
Any lefties on this forum who say illegals are not being pushed to the front of the housing queue need to wake the fuck up.

Private contractor Serco wants more landlords to take in asylum seekers as record numbers continue to cross the Channel. The company is offering to organise a five-year lease with no void periods, regular rent payments without arrears, free repairs and maintenance, full HMO and property management costs as well as covering tenants' council tax and bills while the asylum seekers' claims are being processed. Serco promises to consider all types of property in the Northwest, Midlands and East of England including empty properties, HMOs, residential homes and student accommodation. It was awarded a 10-year contract - worth a record £1.9 billion - by the Home Office in 2019 and is already housing at least 30,000 asylum seekers in 6,000 homes. Serco's operating model is based on leasing properties from a wide network of landlords, investors and agents and acting as a tenant. www.landlordzone.co.uk/news/serco-offers-private-landlords-attractive-deal-to-help-house-asylum-seekersSerco Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract Serco provides asylum accommodation and support services in the North West of England, Midlands and East of England. Our purpose is the provision of accommodation, transportation and subsistence payments for asylum seekers whilst their claims are being processed. We are responsible for over 30,000 asylum seekers in an ever growing portfolio of more than 7000 properties. Our operating model is based on leasing properties from a wide network of landlords, investors and agents with Serco acting as a Tenant.
Sounds like a good deal for people with properties to rent, but I guess it depends on the details...

Serco is obviously quietly confident that demand is not going to diminish substantially for at least another five years. Perhaps they have been given some inside info or it could be they're placing a bet on a Labour victory.

You wanted - quite rightly - to move people out of hotels. Its good that they are rebuilding their rental stock. It will take a while to work though the backlog this government has allowed to build up and to work out a better plan.

I call into question the entire concept of accommodating asylum in community housing that should be occupied by British families. If the government can afford to pay Serco enough to do everything it is promising landlords it will do in order to secure free housing for asylum seekers, it should be able to afford to subsidise decent housing for families or the homeless.
The preferred solution for accommodating asylum seekers is as depicted above; self-contained, safe, secure and cost-effective.

Not to worry Yes indeed I cant see this ending well for any government. It makes you wonder just how removed from reality politicians are who think it's OK to fast track illegals to the front of the housing queue, and of course provide them with every financial benefit, while we have thousands of our own homeless people and many more struggling to survive.

Might I suggest you don't vote for the constant lies and propaganda delivered daily by the Westminster party and the media who take great delight in creating a constant situation where they make you vote for your own downfall.
