Keir Starmer braced for another major u-turn as Labour set to officially ditch flagship £28bn green pledgeThe Labour leader appeared to commit to the pledge just this week, saying it is 'desperately needed' However Sir Keir Starmer is braced for a major U-turn today, with the Labour Party expected to announce it is officially ditching its flagship pledge to put £28 billion towards green investments. The Leader of the Opposition is expected to confirm today that the pledge is being watered down. He is expected to say the changes are necessary as a result of changes to the economic landscape since 2021, when it was first announced. www.gbnews.com/politics/starmer-green-investment-u-turn

Where the fuck were they going to find twenty eight billion ? Well it's an excellent question, and one that I feel deserves an answer, however I havent got the foggiest. So in that resect Starmer and I have something in common.

But somehow, I don't think we will be laughing if/when Starmer and his bunch of left wing net zero EU loving muppets walk into number 10.

So it was wrong to pledge £28 billion, and it's now wrong not to promise to spend £28 billion.
As Labour hasn't yet seen the books, it does seem reckless to have promised so many billions, but wise now to recognise that fact...

Sooo…climate change is going to kill us all ……but there’s not enough money to stop it ? Could it be that Starmer knows that if the UK achieved net zero tomorrow morning it would not make much difference to overall world CO2 levels and his hobby horse is is too expensive ?

I guess I agree that I'd prefer to go to Hell with all the luxurious accoutrements and trappings I can assemble rather than a handcart.
But while there's even the slightest chance of convincing enough people to make a difference, I'd like to bet on that...

Yup. You waiting in a long queue to charge your EV will convince the good people of China or India to rush into net zero. Id like to bet it won’t .
