You got this very wrong jonksy, there are a lot of MPs who are standing down before the next general election, but the majority of them are Conservative. This is what The Evening Standard stated yesterday "Kwarteng joins a growing list of MPs, almost all of them Conservatives, who are departing before the general election. Other include Dominic Raab, who confirmed his departure from Parliament at the next general election" So yes, your right about Rats deserting a sinking ship www.msn.com/en-gb/news/newslondon/which-mps-are-stepping-down-before-the-next-general-election/ar-AA156hrf

They will if the silent majority do jack shit Andy. Don't foget a week is a long time in politics. Even you should have learnt that by now. The remainers have had their noses rubbed in it enough times.

I have voted Conservative in the past, but seriously, who the Hell is going to vote for a party which is divided and fighting amongst themselves. Its little wonder that so many Conservative MPs are getting out whilst the going is good, whilst they still have a job.
Yesterdays so called PopCon was just another sign of the Tory Party at war with itself, theere now aligning to their various sides before the big fight comes when Sunak resigns.

Yet another in the long list of moronic thread titles. Why? - from across the Labour supporting media there has been headline after headline about Tory MP's behaving like rates fleeing a sinking ship - even Keir Starmer has used the phrase in the commons in the past. Why the double standards?

You are not stupid Pacifico. Don't pretend you are.
Age profile of Labour and Tory MPs stepping down Lab Con 20s 0 2 30s 0 2 40s 0 14 50s 0 15 60s 9 15 70s 5 7 80s 2 1
There are a large number of Tory's choosing to leave at an early or prime time of their political career. None from Labour.
Personally I don't blame them - it does feel likely the Tory's will lose and for many 5 or maybe 10 years in opposition probably doesn't feel overly attractive.

Are you denying the FACT that there is infighting in the labour camp WF? There is no infighting within the Labour Party, that is all history now since Mr Corbyn was heavily defeated in the 2019 election and the Labour party returned back to normal under Keir Starmer. Yes, there are factions within the Labour Party, just as there have always been, same as in the Conservative Party, and there are certain MPs in both main parties who act like a "thorn in the side", the extreme right in the Tory Party and the Loony Left in the Labour Party. People such as Dianne Abbot and Richard Burgon are largely keeping quiet these days, probably because they know they are a small minority now, but also because they can see what the polls are saying. But in the Tory Party the battle lines are been drawn, and the fighting is already taking place. Only last week the MP for Middlesbrough South, Simon Clarke, openly called for Sunak to resign before its too late.
