...YOU don't believe White Privilege exists... It doesn't, unless you can prove otherwise. ...therefore it's "makey-uppy". Well indeed.

I think the problem is that this topic is very emotive, and attracts some extreme positions, and opinions based on emotion instead of common sense.
Many on the right take a default position that all, or most of these people are simply looking for a better life, or to take advantage of us. Many on the Left seem to take the view that most, or all of these people are genuine asylum seekers fleeing war or persecution.
I reckon the truth is somewhere in between

Well I know my sons private school wont be one of them It's not exactly controversial to propose that outfits like private schools and religions should be cut off from taxpayer largesse. (And if either want to pass the hat for private donations, that's between them and their donors.) All they get is VAT exemption which shouldn't even exist for anyone on anything and a bit of relief on business rates . Hardly taxpayer largesse as they are not taking anything out of the pot , just not paying into it .

Like makey-uppy 'white privilege' you mean.. QED. YOU don't believe White Privilege exists, therefore it's "makey-uppy". The tooth fairy exists for those who believe in it . Tell black people they are oppressed and / or their lives are shit because of white people then they will find excuses to believe it.

@ttl - I am talking about charities which concern themselves solely or predominantly with migrants and asylum seeker rights in the UK. The BRC does not meet that criterion. There are dozens of such charities that do. Have another go. Will you help us to support people seeking safety today? Will you give a donation today to help us reach more people who urgently need our support? Refugee Council Your gift REFUGEES AND PEOPLE SEEKING SAFETY IN THE UK URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP. Your donation helps some of the world’s most vulnerable men, women and children to rebuild their lives in the UK: settling into safe new homes, getting support to manage their trauma, finding rewarding jobs - and so much more. Took a matter of Seconds not years

Tell black people they are oppressed and / or their lives are shit because of white people then they will find excuses to believe it. The UK is so racist and oppressed the whole world is queuing up to get here, while on the other hand the places they are coming from just happen to be the UK hot spot for tourism, apparently we can't send Asylum seekers to Turkey because it's such a terrible place...
Figures released by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism at the Travel Convention in Bodrum show there were 3.16 million UK visitors in the destination from January to September 2023, up 12% year on year
** The Home Office say they couldn't possibly send asylum seekers to this terrible place, but they'll allow 3.16 million UK citizens go there every year ........ LOL

The government uses anti immigration rhetoric while bending over backwards to facilitate it . The government bends over backwards to accommodate blacks and minorities while blacks, minorities and self hating whites promote the lie of white privilege.

A little hint for you TTL. Just because a charity appeals for donations on its website doesn't meant that they actually get any, or any to speak of.
In fact the Refugee Council (2023 income £19 million) gets close to 100% of its income from public sources and charitable trusts. Its largest funder by far was the Home Office (£4.1 million, followed by Leeds Council (£3.3 million) and Lewisham Council (£1.6 million). A further £3 million was donated by a long list of other public bodies including the National Lottery (£370K).
Donations and legacies account for a further £6.2 million but the accounts list no private donors - the only donor listed are corporations (£21K from Starbucks and £111K from IKEA), charitable trusts and yet more public bodies.
Their accounts list no private donors amongst their sources of income.
Next time, do some homework before making a tit of yourself.

Can't see it Changing unless people have stopped donations. Can't see that happening . Really? How about Amnesty International? Or the National Trust (their successful lobbying against hunting)? Or Shelter? Or any number of charities who lobby for political change? It's often a core concern of such organisations. Personally I dont think they do deserve their charity status - if they want to be a lobby group then fine, give up being a charity and become a lobby group.

I think the charity industry is far too large and often not charitable at all there’s many should lose that status including one we’ve crossed swords on,private education

Let's not beat about the bush, wealthy people have jumped on the 'charity bandwagon', using and abusing it's charitable tax status, chucking in their empty wallets in to the ring, while claiming charitable tax loopholes on the next breath, charity is now a tax loophole of the rich, wealthy and powerful to launder their dirty money, and no one will question it because too many people are in on it.

But I agree tax loopholes should be Closed . And people on here say the Billionaires/Milomaores don't Rod the Standard tax payer.

Yes they should along with a lot of so called charities that are nothing more than tax avoidance schemes, they are some good ones out there but far too many are the opposite.
