There's a guy from Moray on here Vinny , so why dont you ask him? Do they want a referendum on independence , or are you still in a huff about Scottish independence? If you are going to rely on wikipedia for all your information on Scottish history Vinny , you aren't going to get very far. Moray , more properly Moireabh , was one of the six founding members of the Scottish nation , along with Athfotla , Cirech ,Ce ,Fiobh and Fortiriu .So im not sure what you are implying regarding them being an independent country until scotland invaded it. I think you deeply misunderstand what little you have read. The only people I know of in history that invaded moray were the romans , then later the saxons , the vikings , and later English. There was a rebellion in moray , along with galloway , in the Norman period when the normans came to rule scotland. So im not sure what you are gibbering about, and by the way , the modern council area of moray is a twentieth century invention , and is nothing like the old stewardry , An Mhaorine , of moray ruled by the ancient mormaers who served the high kings of scotland.

I don't, I'm just ridiculing the grievance politics of the SNATS who in their heads are living in the distant past.

The Earl of Moray sounds like a rather run down pub that attracts customers with karaoke.

That's generally why you dont reply to my posts , because you dont know enough about Scottish subjects past and present to hold a coherent debate.

The Earl of Moray sounds like a rather run down pub that attracts customers with karaoke. Moray was an Earldom, a sovereign country which was swallowed up by a war that it lost. Given that the people of it were never given a choice on becoming Scottish, it was forced on them by war. There is more justification for a Moray referendum than the SNATS ever had. Scotland was the construct of wars and the dictator Kings who started them.

Scotland was the construct of wars and the dictator Kings who started them. earldom is a modern English name . The Scottish equivalent at the time you are talking about would have been an mharoine. This translates into English as a stewardry , and was governed by an elected head called a mor mhaor (high steward). An earl was a hereditary title based on Norman French feudal law. Moray wasn't swallowed up by anyone. It founded the old kingdom of scotland and became one of 6 stewardys . so was every country on earth. The Scottish and English are two separate ethnic peoples. The people of moray are the founding members of the kingdom of scotland. Have you asked anyone in moray if they want to leave scotland based on vinnys ladybird book of Scottish history ? Or is this just yet more Vinny whining and threats to divide scotland because your union is on its last legs?

If you ignore me , we can once again deduce you are talking through your rear end as normal , and dismiss the thread as more Vinny fantasy.

No point in asking Moray Tommy. She operates on the principle of better a clever lie than the foolish truth and if you ask her anything about Scottish history she just screams that it is all the fault of the bastard English who sent Edward I up to bugger the sheep.
Anyway, Moray has returned to its true loyalty and is now a Tory stronghold
