Let's think this through, with all the think tanks, all those highly educated people in office, shock....horror... our homelessness is out of control ... oh hang about I wonder if these illegal migrants are pushing up the numbers .......... duh Let's put a bunch of infants in charge, let's face it they couldn't do much worse. You really think that that less than. 0.1 immigrants a year adds to.the homeless problem.and you. Know that the Asylum seekers are put up 4 star hotel not in housing. I should point out that there are more than one tenth of an immigrant a year entering the UK

If the government were serious about tacking homelessness a good start point might be to stop hundreds of thousands of criminals crossing the channel from the EU. how much do you think.that adds to.the population of Britain Red . It's less then 0.1% red .do you really think that impacts on the homeless situation .And you know that the Asylum seekers are put in 4star hotels not houses Officially just under 50,000 criminals crossed the channel from the safe EU last year, that's 50,000 cross channel illegals in just one year. And they are pushed to the front of housing queues as homeless British people are ignored. What effect do you think 50,000 a year has on a population of 67+ Million... It clearly has a significant effect on the poorest of those 67 million. In a similar way that freedom of movement did.

I didn't mention the 750,000 net migration figure for last year. which is in addition to the 50,000 cross channel illegals, and they all need somewhere to live. According to Shelter, there are 310,000 homeless people in England today, yet the government still allow record numbers of immigrants both legal and illegal to flood into this tiny country, it's madness. We should look after our own needy and stop importing the EU's problems.

Has if you really care about the poorest And the way the Freedom of movement did really and what about the huge increase of immigrants now dosent that have. A impact ? Me and you will have a disagreement about the impact of Immigration has on the housing stock. But to say that less then 50;000 has has much impact has.1.18 million a year is a outrageous statement even from you. Has My op says in 4yrs 67% of homeless in Manchester have been taken off the Streets Do you think Manchester had no immigrants during that time ?

I've posted this tread after a discushion with amother member on.this Board. Manchester has also made significant progress on reducing rough sleeping, with the city’s A Bed Every Night (ABEN) scheme housing 550 and 600 people in a bed each night. The scheme has helped rates of rough sleeping in the city drop by 67 per cent over four years. Around 350 people moved on from ABEN in the previous quarter, and typically the organisation gets around 100 people per month moving on positively from the service. Burnham, who donates 15 per cent of his salary to the Great Manchester Mayor's Charity which supports homelessness charities in the city, said solving the issue has been "a big commitment" for the city's leadership. Sounds good.
It looks as though the best idea might be to deport all the nation's homeless to Manchester where they can be properly taken care of.

Manchester has nothing like London, London is closer to the Southern beaches where the illegal boats are coming.
The immigration office is in Croydon, South London.

Many more links available, if you want to find them. Perhaps if Migration Watch and others stopped wailing that all asylum seekers and refugees were handed four-star accommodation and all sorts of other goodies as soon as they arrived, the UK might lose its attraction.
As the Rwanda deterrent is unlikely to get off the ground, wouldn't it be better to highlight the rudimentary refugee reception centres and publicise how the UK can't provide adequate housing for significant numbers of its own people, including many serving personnel or care for its homeless veterans...?
