I hear Singapore has some of the toughest drugs laws in the world.
That may, or may not, be the case, but in law every five years the elected body that makes those laws has to subject itself to the will of the people in a general election.
On the subject of drug use, i'd personally like to see a combination of legalisation of all manner of subsances for the use by consenting adults certified by their doctor to be of sound mind and aware of the harms those substances may do, state provision of those substances at pharmaceutical grade, and public execution of amny caught making or dealing their own, bt that os i admit largely because as a qualified and registered graduate biochemist i could apply for alicence to make said stuff to pharmacuetical grade, sell it to the state's registered distributors and make a fucking fortune.
But that has bugger all to do with whether i would need to bribe half a parliament or a presidential dictatorship to get that licence

I'm talking about the average person living there. See for yourself. They all love their leader.
Are there any youtube videos showing the north koreans starving to death If not do you think the BBC are lying about it
Since you get all your information from video, how about this suggesting a sentence including hard labour for unrepantant viewing of similar
I'm sure thhose people love their eternal leader with the fucking silly haircut or whatever he demands they call him now
I'm just telling the truth. There is a video I found sometime back where each year they have a national day dedicated to their leader. They have the world's largest stadium so on that day you have all the people fill the world's largest stadium to cheer and celebrate all the things the leader stands for and does, from adults to kids. It's the highlight of the child's year and a big family occasion. You only have to look at them to see they are having a great time. North Korea is patriotic to the extreme.
I flicked to one of the BBC doom and gloom links and we get a doom and gloom story. It may well be true since covid was a big problem for them, but I think the Chinese sent them some aid. The two countries are buddies like that. The Chinese don't want to see them suffer. Apparently looking at it from China at night it is eerily dark as they can't afford the leccy, where mainland China is lit up like a Christmas tree. It's interesting they were one of the only countries to outright support Russia in the UN vote on Ukraine. Perhaps one day they will be welcome into the BRICS and see some inward investment. Making life hard for North Koreans through trade sanctions, as it is in the BBC link, just kills innocent people. Anyway, compared to African third world countries I think the average person has managed ok, at least until covid. Lets hope they can get back on their feet.

From wiki "Through a paternal great-grandmother, Hunt is a descendant of Sir Streynsham Master, a pioneer of the East India Company."
You know what they firm was selling over in the Far East?

So what you're saying is if i kidnapped your mum and dad and threw them in a cell and loaded anti aircraft guns to use as a firing squad you wouldn't cheer wave dance and sing like THEIR lives depended on it ?
God i thought your BS about china was bad but you've been infected with the propaganda virus good and proper haven't you ?
I mean there are several actual documentaries out there made by people showng you the degree of control the guy with the silly haircut keeps over the people. Probably the best was when Palin tried to engage in conversation with his state supplied minder when he went to the demilitarised zone to film what goes on and comared what he was allowed to do under the supervision of Kim's goons with what he was allowed to film with long lenses the last time he got near said border, from the south krean side.
Have you watched any of those I wonder

I know qute a bit about the East India Company and what they were up to. I still have problems seeing what this has to do with the majority of Singaporean voters putting their electoral support behind a party that chooses to be nasty to drug peddlers

You can conclude that these people do not get kidnapped. Like I was saying before, the only people in North Korea that everyone thinks sucks is the Americans.
As for your own experiences, I think they are tainted by the kind of people you worked for in the past, i.e. the British government and all the bastards that it comprises of.

You had better go and chop Hunt's head off then. It was his family who started it. Are you aware that investors got a 5000% return on their investments?
I don't know a lot about Singapore, but I do know the British were over there causing trouble. Anyway, if you like liberal regimes, Singapore is about the most illiberal. Mind you their illiberalism is in competition with the Middle East. The world is a shitty place.

Talking shit again. I have given up on hoping that you would post something useful, something that would add to the debate. I am beginning to think you are incapable of performing such a task I commented on why your totalitarian cult is getting away with brainwashing kids into worshipping your previous leader. The fact that you are posting personal abuse as a response sums up the people in Scotland who clearly endorse this totalitarian regime that brainwashes kids.
And again showing that you don't know what you are talking about. You explained nothing. As ever, You merely post poisonous one liners (or sometimes two) about the SNP, those who vote for the party, and Scotland itself. If you must post in this forum, at least make some sensible comments. The tripe you post only goes to show your inadequacies, your utter lack of knowledge of Scotland and all things Scottish. 'totalitarian'? 'cult'? 'brainwashing'? 'worshipping'?

You got it. It is inexplicable that anyone with a functioning brain would vote for the bunch of inept deceitful lying crooks that form your devolved administration, but you do. That is no reason to come on here and insult those who remark on it. JD used to splutter foam flecked spital drenched abuse at anyone who raised an eyebrow at the antics of those you have chosen to fleece you, mind that you don't go the same way.

Have you watched any of those I wonder I source my information outside of the establishment media circus so I know what goes on.
As a foreigner you are not allowed to roam freely in the country. Chances are in the past some of these freely roaming tourists were CIA. However not everything can be controlled by the state. The state just keeps an eye on you to make sure you are not planting bombs or other dodgy shit. Yes they have zero trust in Westerners, especially the Anglo-Americans. I think there is a lot better relationship though if you were Chinese and coming from China as a Chinese national.
Anyway, I've seen quite a few interviews with Koreans when someone is visiting and filming it. They are very polite and friendly and the one thing you notice really strongly is they are really happy. They don't have all the nasty grudges we have in the West. They love their county and all help each other.
May I suggest though that your BBC propaganda stories of bad trouble experienced by some could possibly be for a reason we are unaware of. Never assume you know all the facts, because in Western news reports they never give you a balanced story and probably don't know the facts themselves. You see some innocent looking poor person who gets cut up and fed to their dogs might just have had a second job in the CIA. You see the CIA don't go round with badges on. It makes me laugh sometimes how naive the average reader is to imagine they do go around with badges. The CIA kill people, so they can't expect a "fair trial" over there like they would expect in the US. Their file no doubt has inscribed, "handle with extreme prejudice".
Anyway, if you feel in the mood to flatly reject what I think is going on here, an exercise you can do to satisfy yourself is to look at some declassified files of things that say happened 50 years ago, as there are some now of this type, and compare to what was reported at the time. After a time you may well come to the conclusion the reporters are there to spin false stories, as per part of the same team. the way i look at this is the way a theoretician understand a "black box". We can't know what is in the box by inspecting it, but we can use inference based on observations of inputs and output to the box.

JD was right in not standing for the drivel spewed out by you and others on this, Scottish, forum. Best to keep your mouth shut if you cannot post sensible comments. Yes, I vote SNP, and so do about 40% of the electorate (probably lower at this year's election). I will be voting for the Party this year because, despite their failure to move on Independence, the SNP, at this moment in time, remain the strongest force to keep Independence the top of the agenda. As for insults, I find the, supposedly, 'thoughtful' comments, coming from some on here, both insulting and disrespectful. And, I say that as one who has nothing to do with the SNP.

I've been watching another video, which is actually an hour long documentary on the place. It shows a lot of the propaganda and I'm starting to see parallels with the BBC. This is especially so relating to military. Over there everywhere you go there are posters with themes of bombs and missiles. Same on Radio 4's world service in fact. Every night they go on for hours about war and destruction.
