Boris Johnson: The only way to take back control of immigration is to Vote Leave on 23 June May 26, 2016 STATEMENT BY BORIS JOHNSON ON IMMIGRATION STATISTICS, 26 MAY
Last year, 270,000 people came to this country from the EU and net migration was 184,000. That means we are adding a population the size of Oxford to the UK every year just from EU migration.
Since 2004, 1.25 million people have been added to the population due to EU migration. That is bigger than the city of Birmingham. ,
Worst of all, it is terrible for our democracy. People have watched Prime Minister after Prime Minister make promises on immigration that cannot be met because of the EU and this has deeply damaged faith in our democratic system.
Let's look at that in the light of Boris Johnson has prime minister.
Revised estimates showed last week that net migration reached a record 745,000 in 2022, after post-Brexit changes to the immigration system brought in under Boris Johnson. Net migration for the year to June 2023 is estimated to have been slightly lower, at 672,000.
Rishi Sunak has blamed high levels of net migration on Boris Johnson, saying he had “inherited these very large numbers” that he was determined to bring down.
The prime minister vowed to “do what is necessary” to bring net migration down, as he comes under pressure from the right of his party to reduce the number of new arrivals to the UK before the next election.
So we definitely see that Boris Johnson has a leading figure in the Brexit Campaign deliberately lied British public knowing full well that immigration was one of the high concern of the British public at the time.

While you are correct to mock the tories on their immigration failure , who apart from you , believes starmers new labour party is going to solve problems with immigration with their track record?

Your confusing Brexit with Tory policy . Though most leave voters and I dare say many remain voters as well would like to see a reduction in immigration Tory policy (and Labours) is to encourage it . Their idea of controlling it is to allow it rather than allowing free movement . They like to be able to count the heads .
The problem with Brexit is that those who forced the issue UKIP/Brexit party never got to have a say on how it was implemented .The Tories a remain party along with a remain opposition and a remain House of Lords were never going to let it play out as it was intended

I'm not actually mocking the Tories on there immigration record But pointing out the Lie Brexiters told about controlling immigration if we left the EU. This was evident by one of the main supporters of Brexit Boris Johnson it wasn't so under his time has prime Minister It increased at a alarming rate. Especially amongst them from.Developing. a country's. Has for Starmer and his track record on immigration not sure what your on about But if immigration did increase under his Govenment. Of you read my post on immigration I Clearly Support it Because I think. There are beneficial to The County.

Enhance the leave vote knowing full well he has a torie they would never allow controlled immigration And you mentioned. About UKIP and the Brexit party had no say in it Why on earth should a unelected political parties have a say in British laws. And if immigration is such a concern with the British laws they had plenty of opportunities to vote UKIP. Or Brexit party. But neither of them have had a representative in the House of Commons.

And if immigration is such a concern with the British public they had plenty of opportunities to vote UKIP. Or Brexit party. But neither of them have had a representative in the House of Commons. As I said that was the problem with Brexit ,there was no real representation in Parliament . People fell for the lie that there was no point in voting UKIP as they would have a referendum and implement the result of that referendum ,they didn't Cameron lied . May then said she would get the best deal for Britain , she didn't , she lied . Johnson then stood on the platform of getting Brexit done ,so no need to vote Brexit indeed that party did not even stand in many tory seats . He didn't , he lied . As for immigration both UKIP and Brexit parties promoted the points based immigration system that Johnson later said he would use . We saw little evidence that was the case . Sunak more recently has decided on a minimum wage for immigrants , the man is an idiot as it rules out many of the workers that we need though with 1.2 Million coming through the door you would think he could find a few to pick a few crops

And they new they was no real repersentives in parliament for a controlled points immigration policy So there was no way that Johnson could pass such a law though the commons or house of Lords And yet they decided not to stand against the Conservatives . It seems they were very much a part of the lie.

Brexit was supposed to facilitate a new start for the UK to control its borders and seek new horizons. The problem was no one in power really wanted to and if they did , they were incapable.

Indeed. Brexit was supposed to facilitate a new start for the UK to control its borders and seek new horizons. The problem was no one in power really wanted to and if they did , they were incapable. So like I said ukip was a part of that lie not standing in Tories Constituencys not to spilt the tory vote. UKIP had nothing to do with it . UKIP was effectively finished after the referendum . Read the post again. I’m not saying that the case for Brexit was a lie .

Do people suffer from Boris syndrome, he left office in September 2022 FFS
He's history, why are the lefties so obsessed with him?
The only politician that respected the vote of the people, and delivered what was democratically voted for Leave, and the Remoaners will never forgive him for it, a politician (Prime Minister) who did not cancel the peoples vote.
