The problem with Righties like yourself is they just dismiss information they don't like. Closed minds are stuck, they never learn.

In 1833, Great Britain used 40% of its national budget to buy freedom for all slaves in the Empire - It was called the most expensive moral action in history. So well worth celebrating. Of course, most of that money was used to compensate the slaveholders, not the slaves. And in doing so an American style civil war was avoided. The American Civil war killed 620,000 people and the cost of war was far above the cost of compensating the slave drivers.

The reason the police were called in NY is because he passed over counterfeit money to purchase cigarettes and the store owner called 911. An Angel he wasn't by any means.

Should have took his own advice . He did, I have only seen one conviction for the use of a fire arm early on in his criminal career.

Agreed, but that didn't mean it was ok to kill him.

And rightly so . Whatever anyone thinks of the slave trade and I guess most of us agree with its abolition the fact remains the slaves were purchased under contract . Many slaves remained with their former owners as paid labourers ,without the compo there would have been no money to pay them , chaos and starvation would have been the order of the day . You mean they were property properly paid for, so the people who bought them as property in 'good faith' were entitled to be compensated? Are you capable of being property? Or is that a distinction that can only be enjoyed by others? Everyone at the time was capable of being property, shipwrecked sailors washed up along the African coast at that time became the property of others and had to serve masters and could be sold and exchanged and were. If one entered the interior to free them then one had to buy their freedom. In the context of the times it was the way of the world, it was Britain that tried to change that and largely succeeded with the cost of thousands of British lives.

Except Edward Colston was not being celebrated for being a slave trader. You would have to be an imbecile to believe that. But he was a slave trader, right? If anyone tries to erect a statue to Savile for his services to charity, his statue will end up at the bottom of a river too. Nobody will will care that he was not being celebrated for being a paedophile. You'd have to be an imbecile to expect otherwise, Doc. Mandela was a terrorist, I do not think anyone disputes that, yet he has a statue. Savile's services to charity came with the cost of his ongoing abuse of those he helped. Colston spent his trading profits on the local people, Mandela managed to change the political system in his country.

I had to wait until I stopped shaking my head in disbelief ^^^ LOL What Murder are you on about? Whooooosh.. Yes, I agree, a speed read caused by being in a bit of hurry. Your analogy was of course ridiculous. Apart from anything else as the gun was not fired we don't even know if it was loaded or not. So the shaking of the head part still stands
