What does Woke actually mean

The problem is that many people who describe themselves as woke are aware of injustice and racism that most of us think is absolute bollocks. So it is many of  those who self define as woke that are creating the new meaning.

Describing an obese person as a person of size or that smear tests should be carried out on people with cervixes. An obese person is fat and a person with a cervix is a woman. Trying to change it is 'woke' and trying to change it is regarded as bollocks so go figure.

Woke means adopting authoritarian positions on theories that have no basis in reality. It insists on everyone propounding contentious ideas like “structural” racism. It punishes dissenters by bullying, investigating or sacking those who don’t want to sign up to brainwashing programmes.

Well 'most of us' could just be the people on this forum which would not really be a conclusion at odds with the posts here. I could be referring to my casual conversations with punters at markets, steam rallies, highland games, country shows, craft fairs  and car boot sales that I tend to frequent in the summer and that certainly has the air of being fed up with what we could loosely call the 'woke agenda'. Most of that seems at odds with the BBC, Sky News and the Guardian who seem to revel in the 'woke agenda'. My evidence is certainly based on personal experience but is by no means limited. That is backed up by polls both here and in the US although in the UK there seems confusion as to what it is. Two thirds of the US citizens polled find it at best distasteful. But hey you can ignore all that and carry on and if you insist on something then I can give you this.

So there is evidence but of course it is my opinion. Perhaps you think I am wrong.

Of course there are clear definitions but like many words it depends on who is using it and in what context. 

While "self righteous" deluded Righties introduced the misuse of the word as a way of insulting just about anyone, not just lefties, who disagrees with them.

However that begs the question as to whether what a woke person is defining as injustice and discrimination in society especially racism is in fact those things.

So to the woke person himself he is virtuous and certain in himself he is being righteous by taking any action he does and is proud of being 'woke'. Too often to the rest of us his actions seem petty, unjustified, poorly judged, mostly idiotic, lacking in common sense and an imposition for no good reason on the rest of us. So in the eyes of those who use woke as a critical word being woke is stupid, but dangerous.
Examples I have given before.

NHS referring to a person with a cervix instead of a woman. It is woke becasue it is considering the feelings of a small proportion of people and pandering to their supposed sensitivities and is trying to reinvent language that has stood the test of time for generations. It is also felt to be an idiotic approach to the needs of society. A person who 'identifies' as a woman will know whether or not he needs a smear test will be well aware of what woman means in the context of the request to attend and if he does not then certainly mental health issues will be discovered should he attend for the smear test. Woke is creating problems that realistically do not exist.
