2023 has included 2 horrendous wars, tens of thousands of resulting deaths, serious economic struggle for far too many, a health service in the UK held together by bandaids and the good will of the people, and the beginning of serious future weather disasters.
Here's hoping 2024 is better for us and the planet.

Speaking in terms of PERSONAL circumstances I can’t see how it could possibly be a lot worse than the past two or three.
After all, just how much MORE damage to wales can Starmer POSSIBLY do given how badly Wankford has fucked it over.
So yeah, i’ll drink to that. And in about six and a half hours i will start doing so

Though the Roman almanacs say otherwise, convention has it that January is named after Janus (Januarius), the Roman god of doorways, gates, transitions and dualities who is always depicted facing opposite directions, the future and the past. As we transition from the old year into the new, there is a sense of relief at leaving a bad year behind, but many of the past year's challenges remain unresolved and will spill over into the new year. Therefore, in the interests of distracting from the harsh reality of actual news in which we are awash and saturated, I propose that we forumers continue to gather for a daily portion of silliness, tripe, balderdash, gibberish, hogwash, poppycock, drivel and bunk. Happy New Year to you all.

A sense of humour is the underrated and understated life jacket of life. Just imagine if Putin and Hamas and Bibi had one!!

A happy and prosperous New Year to all contributors. However, if the happiness of your New Year depends on other people having a miserable New Year...have a word with yourself!

A happy and prosperous New Year to all contributors. However, if the happiness of your New Year depends on other people having a miserable New Year...have a word with yourself! well in my defence the only people i want to see miserable are politicians. And maybe estate agents and solicitors …. Seeing as my youngest has just had her offer on her entry to the property market accepted…. But surely they don’t count, i mean, everyone hates them don't they ? Happy New Year. It’ll be here in 74 minutes.
