Illegal Entry is an arrestable offence. But they are not arrested. 🤫 Some are and they all could be.
Besides, Blairs government were talking about changing the law to permit prolonged detention.
And there's nothing to stop any government from doing that now.

Successive governments haven't.
And we should use uninhabited islands.
