Members of their staff have been murdered by the FSB for criticising the dictatorship and the company forced to relocate to Riga in Latvia to avoid censorship. Seven of their journalists including Anna Politkovskaya have been murdered by the FSB.
The Moscow Times are journalists, they were forced to relocate as well.
Both Novoya Gazeta and The Moscow Times are banned inside Russia.
