I am having a little more work done to my house this autumn and tried to access my NS&I account to transfer a small sum into my bank, I have done this three times this year with no problem.
Tried to log in and found that the mobile phone number that they were sending a code to was in fact my landland, so unable to login, a metallic automated voice on their help line told me to login and change my number, absolute mess, in the end I managed to figure out how to close my account and withdraw the whole lot into my bank.
It looks like I was fortunate, just read the reviews below, this is a Government organisation, it appears that everything that is controlled by the State is a dysfunctional mess, the Police, CAA, NHS and now NS&I, if you are thinking of putting your money their way please read the hundred odd pages of reviews below,
