Amongst many things Jesus said that if you want a mountain to move, it will move. Literally. But how? I havent moved mountains, but in reality the things i have changed were miracles, it works, whats the point of moving a mountain, its an analogy for the creative in your mind. Think it, theres more to it than that, and i have explained it, no more though, and it will come to pass. The act of thinking of picking up the keys to a Porsche already makes it real, it exists. Instead your automatic thoughts will ponder of fog, neutral, fear, destructiveness, negativity.
All day long. And it will come to pass, all your life. Think, create a new life, existence, and it will come to pass. If you are unhappy, 90 percent are, then what is your perfect existence?
I am of course throwing seeds on barren ground, and i do get a sense of hopelessness, having said that, one or two may germinate in time, who knows. Your mind is the crucible of creation, connected to all things in this life and beyond. Ask the mountain to move. The information how to is there. To tell you is to waste my time, you will only value it if you discover it for yourself.

People have very little faith, or clearly, mountains would be moving all over the place. However, I've seen people get over what they thought were mountains in their lives, by faith and prayer, they have won through.

Unbelievers would be unlikely to doubt that, but would probably put it down to the power of positive thinking.

But that's probably an unwinnable argument — believers are likely to counter by claiming something like it's the Almighty that gives and guides the gift of positive thinking...

Gift?. Your mind is like a computer, learning to use it takes time. Deeper in the psyche is an observer, even in times of extremis, it like your are removed from whats going on. Remember learning to drive?. If you dont begin to control your mind, its like sitting in a car.
And thats all, your not trying to figure out what a gear stick is, or a steering wheel, in fact you dont even know they are there.

I think you are referring to being shrewd, not the same thing, being negative creates negative results, being shrewd is good, its shows you are not a dufus.

I find reason a better basis for decision making than faith.

To tell you is to waste my time, you will only value it if you discover it for yourself. I absolutely agree, thoughts are very powerful. They can feed and consolidate negativity or they can open up the mind to better things. One of the problems appears to be that it is often easier to go along with the problems one knows than it is to fight against the negativity that exists.

Having negative thoughts about things has saved me many a time. I suspect your 'negative thinking' is more an instinctive feeling that something isn't quite right, and that has proved to be correct and positive in many of your experiences.

Yes indeed, and one offer I got for some business in particular, the negativity saved my skin. It was something I could not know and did not know at the time, but got a few hints the offer was dicey.

I don't think that doubt or uncertainty is negative thinking, it is just part of working out what is going on i.e. is it good or is it bad. Negative thinking might be to look for reasons to dismiss ones instincts.

See2, Your above comment about being comfortable with whats familiar is correct, that change is hard. I can see a big change coming for me soon, and its a big oppurtunity. My previous life, lives, ways of doing things, thinking and feeling will go, up grading will be in progress. Ive already done it three times without realising it, moving to three different cities, and being different in each. This time i wont be moving, probably, this time i will consciously want the best and will get it, in all things.
Its already happened, in my head. Change is what the Universe is all about, for the better.
