By 2014 the organisation had cleaned itself of the small Nazi style leadership and developed into the Azov Regiment. They had every right to defend their country from the now terrorist who were being supported by Russia. 
4. Odessa was a defense against the rising problem of Russian backed terrorists promoting the stealing of part of the Ukraine. The truth is that the terrorists had absolutely no right to steal part of the Ukraine for themselves, and none of it was any business of Putin, who just saw it as an opportunity to steal part of the Ukraine for himself.
