Some foresight from his team could have provided him with appropriate civilian cold-weather gear. Another fail.
However, thinking back to my media ops training at staff college (2007), he was probably offered the jacket by some military sycophant (adjutant, most likely) and may have felt it would be rude to decline.

If there's a likelihood of combat and a need to blend in with the surroundings, then Sir Keir needed to take the same precautions as the rest of them. If they're in a perfectly safe area and won't be engaging in any 'combat', then none of them need to be wearing it. The fact that two blokes have attached Christmas decorations to their hats, would suggest they're not in an area where there's any immediate danger of having your head blown off. If everyone knows you're tough enough already, you don't need the costume ....as the Iron Lady proved back in her tank driving days.

GBNews went ballistic when they saw him but oddly enough did not mind when Johnson, Truss and Sunak did it.
Starmer was the only one to carry it off though.

Right now I couldn't care which politician has their little moment of oh look at me standing with some soldiers. Starmer is not going to honestly and openly condemn Blair for the military or diplomatic fuck ups of the past. Sunak isn't going to honestly and openly condemn Cameron for running down our military.
We need to re-arm our conventional military forces and that means taxes are going to have to go up to pay for it. We cannot simply borrow borrow borrow.
That said, frozen Russian money in our country could be confiscated and spent on our armed forces.
There's $300,000,000,000 frozen Russian money in the USA, there must be a similar amount here, maybe even more, because Blair was so friendly to the oligarchs in the 2000's. An amount like that could do a great deal for our armed forces.
Update, £48 billion in Russian assets have been frozen. Use that money to fund our military or arm Ukraine.

They are as thick and corrupt as the ones they criticise. Mogg is a fave on GB News and he still backs the worst prime minister Britain has ever seen. Also I do not like the way this is going. The BBC have tuned into a political party and so have GB News.

Stealing other people's money and running an international financial centre in London do not mix. Imagine if your bank did that for some spurious reason. You would never bank with them again. Bang goes another entire British industry which pays a lot of tax. Much as our people disapprove of what Russia has done to Ukraine, it is important to maintain diplomatic relations and do stuff by agreement. You see our energy firms have some investments in Russia as well. We would be far better to do a business deal where Russia gets the value of what we hold of theirs, and we get the value of what they hold which is ours. The one reason why the ciy of London did so well was it was kept at arms reach from politics. If we want to behave like a third world country like Bangladesh, then we must expect a third world financial centre like they have.

The money is already stolen and they owe thousands of millions in reparations to the Chechens, Georgians, and Ukrainians.
Fuck Putin.
Put that money to better use.

Would you really justify stealing off someone because they stole from someone else? Two wrongs do not make a right, and how can we pretend to be right if what we do is wrong? The hypocrite will go to hell. The money is not ours, and another thing, we nicked £300m off the Iranians since back in the 70s. I know we have paid it back now, but what a load of piss-takers we have been about it. We must stay out of other people's wars. We must use our military only to defend our nation and its interests.

Accelerating the defeat of Putin will save a lot of lives, therefore it is not wrong.
That bastard has bombed civilians, power stations, dams, gas pipelines, the works, defeat him.
Time Russia had another revolution. And this time, became a democracy. When it does, then we can think about giving them money, but they must pay reparations to Putin's victims in Chechnya and Georgia and Ukraine.

Would you really justify stealing off someone because they stole from someone else? Proceeds of crime act does exactly that No it does not because they are general earnings. If someone defrauded someone and had the cash in their bank account then that money would be returned to the owner like stolen property does if the owner can be located. Proceeds of crime is more for things like drugs businesses and the like. No one got ripped off, jus the police say the trade is illegal hence crime.
