No longer can the government decide how they can WASTE tax payers money, there will be a independent regulator made up of the general public who will decide how the UK tax payers money will be spent, EVERY government treat Tax payers money as FREE money, if it was coming out of their own personal bank accounts none of this nonsense that is happening now would be happening.

And we also have the OBR.
We spent £33Bn on test and trace. Agree that was a waste, I don't really need another quango to tell me that though.

One of the reasons that Tudor and Stuart monarchs were able to get away with so much was that parliaments were usually only summoned when the king or queen wanted some cash.

That figure is THE BUDGET, not the amount that was spent. 85% of which was spent on testing. At best you could claim that a couple of hundred million was wasted on the App. Unless you really want to argue that testing people for covid was a waste of money? |

The problem with your arguments is that they suggest things would have been massively different if somebody else was in charge, which it total bullshit. All the measures that got us into this debt, and created this inflation were UNIVERSALLY SUPPORTED.
