Sunak thinks so. Last year the government gave the French €62.7 million to 'curb' the flood migrants crossing the channel. Since then at least 40,000 migrants have crossed the channel, so what is Sunak doing about it? If he was a strong prime minister who put the best interests of the UK first, he would be:
1.Tearing Macron a new arse on a global stage 2.Taking France to the ECtHR 3 Withdrawing French fishing licences?
So what is he doing? He has agreed to pay France more cash. Yes in addition to monies paid in the past, the UK will pay France a further £80 million and for that princely sum, Macron will allow British police/Border Force to patrol French beaches. Honestly, you couldn't make this up. We are paying Macron for the privilege of sending British police to patrol his coastline! It's as if Macron is having a laugh with his buddies saying, 'lets see how much I can get of the Brits this time lol'.
Add to that, Sunak has promised to spend at least £11.6 billion on international climate finance between 2022 and 2026. Exactly what international climate finance is, is unclear. And he talks about compensating 'disaster-hit developing countries' and specifically mentions Pakistan. A country that has long been prone to floods, yet has not invested in flood defence. Instead, Pakistan spends $billions on a huge army, a space programme and a nuclear arsenal. Yet Sunak says we should compensate Pakistan.
We need a new party in the UK. We need a party that puts this country first.

The Tories are probably going to lose the next election. And it's going to make absolutely no difference whatsoever.

The Tories are probably going to lose the next election. And it's going to make absolutely no difference whatsoever. I agree, the Tories may lose the next election, and tbh no one can say they don't deserve to lose. But surely the Labour party are even more committed to immigration and this net-zero nonsense than the bloody Tories.

I question that: I'm not sure that they can actually be more committed given that the Tories have done fuck all to deal with this over the last 12 years.
Or, in other words, they have to go some to be worse.

But anyway... If the Tories actually wanted to deal with anything now's the time. They've got an 80 seat majority – change the law if that's the problem.
But they haven't, and the only conclusion can be that they don't actually want to.
We already know that Labour don't want to, so they all piss in the same pot and there is no functional difference.
Not that Starmer could do anything anyway, even assuming that he has any actual conviction. Labour are even more divided than the Tories and even if he could get in, Starmer would have to constantly appease a dozen warring tribes within his own party. And he's got Bob Hope and no hope of actually doing that, so he'll change with the wind even more than Sunak.
Let's face it, they're all jellyfish: No brains, no balls and no spine.
