Thats how much we spend on the NHS every year, oh hang on, thats core funding, theres always more. A mind bending amount of money, very little of it actually hits the front lines, i know i did it for 35 years. This is a measure of how all politicians have failed this country, the NHS, it should be the best in the world.
Its tax money, our money, and weve been robbed. Ive been in Addenbrookes hospital 18 months ago for a week, i only found out what was wrong with me by reading the discharge letter given to me by the ward staff to give to the car park attendent so i wasnt charged several thousand pounds, thats an overestimation.
My consultant visited me once, he strolled past my bed, he didnt stop, and said i might need an op, then strolled off. Didnt ask how i was, or was bothered about answering questions, or owt. The whole experience was disturbing, it was at the height of covid and the bloke in the next bed kept trying to touch me, everybody, he had his own minder who tried to keep him in check, failing miserably. He was there not on a psych ward because a relative threatened the hospital with law suites or whatever. He was up till 2-30 3-00 am every night.
Anybody who knows how to handle money could turn the NHS around in a second, its not hard.
The key to a world class system is its treatments, its front line, this is no where near a priority, the admin dont give a fek.
My partner is in Addenbrookes at the moment, she is on a ward not sign posted and away from the main building, i strolled around looking for it asking people, none of whom knew. What an eye opener. The research and bio medical campus is huge, with massive space age buildings, awesome in shape and size. The Astra Zeneca building was a city in size, the others not as big but not far off, im sure apart from Astra Zenca they were NHS buildings.
GOD KNOWS WHAT THEY DO IN THERE. I suspect its watching sky sports and planning where to go that night. They will all be paid big bucks and have what they want. What comes out of places like that, god only knows. I suspect nowt of worth.
When i worked in the NHS we had a building that was an ex cop station, everything was rammed in there, doctors, nurses, community, psychologists, un qualified staff, secretaries, admin. It was ramming two pints into a pint pot, you had to book rooms days before hand.
The whole thing is a shambles. A man who isnt political but understands money, and had a red pen could sort it out in an afternoon. The British people are being screwed, and suffering for it.
And i mean suffering physically, look at the league tables.
