I’m looking for a better link Police rushed to the scene earlier today of a stabbing in a village not exactly known for serious crime. Residents of Aberfan a village whose name has stood in history for its sliding coal tip found a 29 year old heavily pregnant woman lying in a pool of blood and the assailant responsible making off. The woman had recently moved to the village after bring involved in a domestic abuse case in England. A heavily pregnant woman has been attacked and stabbed multiple times, the attacker is still on the loose, yet the police have apparently not issued a description! Why?

Just listened to a local woman interviewed in Aberfan. She was almost in tears, she said no one knows where the attacker is...
...But the police have still not issued a description.
Ahh, just heard a 28 year old man has been arrested.

Locals said the woman, believed to be "heavily pregnant", had moved to the village recently after being involved in a domestic abuse case in England. South Wales Police said in a statement: "Following a report that a 29-year-old woman had been stabbed on Moy Road, Aberfan, Merthyr earlier this morning, officers have arrested a 28-year-old man from Merthyr on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently in police custody."
I dare say that Red will be along soon to assure that the attacker was a Jihadist from Merthyr in Somali, but so far it looks a run of the mill domestic tragedy

Many links I've read describe the accused as a 'local' man from Merthyr. Yes indeed, Daniel Mihai Popescu, is a traditional Welsh name in the valleys, boyo. |

Popescu is a Romanian surname, meaning 'son of a priest'. It is derived from the word popă, meaning 'priest', 'parson' or 'Pope', and the suffix -escu, meaning 'son of'.
Looks like he is a Welsh Jidadi Romanian person, unless he had changed his name when he waded ashore of course.
