An interesting piece in the Sunday Times reports on the completion of the demolition of a 'vulnerable area' on the outskirts of Odense which was once home to over 9,000 people of over 80 different nationalities.
The Social Democrat government of Mette Fredericksen has identified nineteen such areas, all of which are planned for removal by 2030. To qualify for 'vulnerable' status, an area's population must be over half 'non-Western' and must also compare unfavourably on crime, levels of employment, education and average income.
The thought arises as to whether such a scheme would make sense in certain parts of England where there are numerous 'vulnerable areas' on the Danish model.
It could have the advantage of dispersing migrant populations and vibrant diversity to places like Zanyville and dappyland some of whose current residents are very keen on the rest of us experiencing such delights while eschewing them themselves.

Good for the Danes. The trouble is it couldn't be done here because the woke Left wouldn't throw a wobbly. No British politician would have the balls to do this. There was a good article in the Mail a couple of days ago "Deutschland, Wir haben ein Problem". Apparently the Germans have finally woken up to the fact that the million muslims that Merkel let in are causing huge problems. link

According to the Times, the Danes are selling it to the public on the basis that it is helping to keep the far right out of power.
Surely even in the UK lefties would be on board for that.

I don't know - I've never been to Denmark - but from what I read it doesn't have quite the problem with the woke left as we do. I think they've done a bit in Denmark to reduce the pull factor - like reducing benefits for those who haven't contributed. I don't think we would get away with that in the UK
I think we have a large number of people in this country who are determined to destroy our culture and will resist any attempt to stop the islamification of our country and culture.

I don't think anywhere on the continent has such an endemic problem with the woke left as the UK does. A possible exception might be Germany but their problem is due to lingering ghosts from the past rather than wokeism.

There are several possible theories but one that seems the most plausible to me is that these ideas tend to originate in America and waft eastwards over the Atlantic. They land in the UK first and, because British culture is very deeply Americanised to an extent that continental cultures are not, they take root quicker and spread more rapidly.

I don't subscribe to the Times so can't read it.
If Denmark pull down the ghettos where do they go, if dispersed to other richer areas the ancestral poor there will rightly ask why are they being housed at their expense?
There are no easy solutions yet letting too many poor people in is a recipe for problems.
Re the US, they protect our former colonial and English speaking Anzak nations and also are the only serious threat if Russia goes rogue (excl Ukraine on that).
Also as Global reserve currency we can't really afford to provoke financial retaliation.
We do allow foreign businesses to operate here and for me that is where the influence comes from.
