In response to what it called a 'hybrid assault' Finland has closed the last of its nine land border-crossings with Russia. Evidently the Finns suspect that the Russians have been assisting would-be refugees to reach the Finnish border and thus achieve entry to the EU.
According to a report in the Guardian, just this month "...more than 900 asylum seekers from countries including Somalia, Yemen, Iraq and Syria have arrived in Finland from Russia, according to the Finnish border guard – a considerable increase on usual numbers."
The Finns don't seem to have any compunction about leaving asylum seekers on the Russian side of the border in -25C temperatures. No word as to what the Russians are doing with them.
