OK there’s been the justified criticism regarding the behaviour of the criminal element like Wayne Couzens but we sat back and allowed numbers to be decimated by the supposed party of law and order and are horrified by the rise in crime.
It is imo the fault of politicians both national and local that we are where we are and in fact us for allowing it.
When they are attempting to carry out their duties the inevitable happens, out come the phones the crowd commenting about all that goes on they are then pressured that if they make the slightest error they’ll be at best ridicule in the press or at worst lose their job.
When scrotes have appeared in court judges have ruled that they (the police) cannot be offended by the swearing and abuse made in their direction.
You only have too see the reality on tv when this happens or indeed YouTube where some make it their life’s work to wind them up.
They are sent out single manned in to a world where there is little respect and a propensity for violence.
We still have Blunketts plastic coppers, well meaning they may be but totally useless the money would be better invested in full constables,we all know it and yet nothing is done.
Just looking on here the political criticisms, they are if you don’t follow my line of politics then you aren’t doing your job properly.
Anyway who given the way it is today would put up with that or do their job.
See attached video.

Speaking as a copper's dad.. (5 years in uniform - now a DC..).. When they are attempting to carry out their duties the inevitable happens, out come the phones the crowd commenting about all that goes on they are then pressured that if they make the slightest error they’ll be at best ridicule in the press or at worst lose their job. That particular genie's out of the bottle. DC Eldest Son is, I guess, gracing half of the Facebook and TikTok pages originating in the Sheffield area. He's cool about it, so long as (as with any other rubbernecker) no one gets in the way. Of course, it can also play a vital role in keeping the Police accountable. We can well see that, stateside, nothing would ever have happened to the thugs who beat Rodney King half to death, and that Derek Chauvin would still be on the streets with a gun and a badge had that heroic young woman not held her ground and continued filming him. We still have Blunketts plastic coppers, well meaning they may be but totally useless the money would be better invested in full constables.. DCES would also like to see more uniforms on the streets, but actually has some regard for CSOs. Deployed properly, they can provide solid local intelligence, form a useful link to a community, and free up the Uniform Branch to use their time more profitably. It's a job I, also, would neither be able nor keen to do. I have bottomless respect for those that put themselves out there.

Personally they shouldn't put up with that and doing their job should include being able to open the police station and showing the guy around on a full tour that takes in a dark room and a 48 hour wait .

Yep but as you can see they definitely do get in the way, relative recently retired had little regard for Pcso’s as a useful asset. Whilst it is good they’re accountable they’re not aunt sallys and that’s what’s occurring more and more.
