The bongo drums are saying there will be a leadership election in the next 7 days.
Has anyone else heard this?

I can't honestly believe that even the current chaotic Conservative Party would seriously propose installing a fourth Prime Minister in a single parliament.
I do think that nearer the election time Labour and the Lib Dems will use recent history as a weapon against the Tories especially in more traditional "One Nation" Tory seats in the "blue wall". "Vote for Sunak and you might get Braverman. Don't take that risk" will I suspect shift quite a few votes away from blue.

If anyone can throw away Labour's poll lead, it's Sir Keir.

At least you didn't make the mistake of thinking this is about the Labour party, dappy. I've not heard any more but the 1922 committee could be quite secretive and when the required number of letters are in it could happen quite quickly. Sunak is not as popular as he would hope to be in his own party. Not surprising, considering his backstabbing path to the PM's job.

Apparently more letters of no confidence have been submitted to Sir Graham Brady, although I doubt the number will reach the required 15% to trigger a confidence vote, which in Sunaks case equates to 53 letters. I think if a vote of no confidence was going to happen it should have been this side of Christmas. With rumours of a May election it's too late to think of leadership challenges. Although, given what's happened over the past few years, anything is possible.

Just over a week, perhaps. It looks like the Jenrick resignation is like a last straw. I'd love to see Rishi removed like he did to Boris and Liz.

Who would be mad enough to want the job?

Who would be mad enough to want the job? Suella Braverman, hopefully. Welcome to the forum btw.
