Of course there have been cases where they have hacked stuff. There are 1.4 bn people in China and there are bound to be criminals amongst them, but get to know the people and you find the opposite of what you have been told. They are on the whole trustworthy, good natured and like to make friends. When the US accuses them of IP violations it is often things like a Chinese phone manufacturer might copy the shape of an Iphone simply because that is the shape which is trendy and popular, i.e. what the customer wants. They don't pass them off as Iphones, just the young girls see that as a fashion accessory. In China they traditionally don't have the same idea that IP is an owned thing, rather their culture favours sharing ideas. These things are deliberately misinterpreted by the MSM. I agree the vast majority of them would be decent people. Unfortunately the state has employed a number to steal intellectual property from the West in technical subjects or new technology. interestingly I read a Chinese chap's blog on another forum, now in his 80s talking about living in China and was very interesting yet he got banned as he went to recent times.

Unfortunately the state has employed a number to steal intellectual property from the West in technical subjects or new technology. interestingly I read a Chinese chap's blog on another forum, now in his 80s talking about living in China and was very interesting yet he got banned as he went to recent times. They don't steal intellectual property. Their state is not like that at all and indeed quite the opposite. The general thrust of the state in China is to make sure the country does straight business with those both in China and across the world. They respect patents and they pay their licence fees. Indeed this is a big thing regarding the state's intentions. They are trying to ensure the image of Chinese business is a good one because it creates trust and trust increases trade volume. They joined the WTO as well for this reason. When China joins an organisation it honours it. Honour is a big thing in the Chinese culture, so it works like the government is an extension of the will of the people. This is what they mean by "Chinese characteristics". I've looked into a number of alleged stolen IP hacking cases and the like. They tend either to be trivial or sometimes completely false and sometimes it is just a dodgy employee. It happens in any company you can get the odd dodgy person, but it is certainly not encouraged. The damage it could cause the company is far greater than any reward. Anyway, I bet you did not read about the US ignoring 22 000 Huawei patents they have registered in the US and the 120 000 worldwide patents. Any firm placed on the entity list the US will ignore all their parent rights and any firm can be put on the list across the entire world. That's stealing wholesale and is sanctions by the state. They are total hypocrites.
