Nonsense, BvL 52% of people say immigration should be reduced. 32% say immigration should be reduced a lot. That's a lot of votes and the majority of them are red wall voters. Immigration illegal or otherwise, is a massive issue. Unfortunately I could not locate the source, but it was from a polling company, possibly Yougov. They ranked the economy first and I think the NHS came in at about 3 and the immigration (boats?) was fifth. The problem with these polls is that it really does hinge by a large amount on what question you ask, and also the other questions you ask before the one you are interested in. Newspaper polls are a waste of time as the sample is skewed, and so best use one of the main polling companies. Unfortunately Yougov's website is designed by a bloody stupid blonde, so is impossible to navigate. Hey no biggie, polls are polls, hardly scientific. Answers very much depend on the way questions are couched, and the people designing the questions are cleverer than the people answering them.

To be fair to Sunak, I think these five latest pledges are just relating to the economy rather than wider issues - hence the reason why waiting lists are not included either - arguably the most important issue of all. Whether you take seriously any of Sunak's election year re-sets and objectives is entirely up to you. Have to say I have given up listening to him. Little bet though Red. I bet come election day you will vote Tory (lead by Sunak). Dappy, ten months ago Sunak read out his list of five pledges which included stopping the boats. Today the boats are just as big an issue, but it no longer appear on his list of five pledges. As many people predict, he has no intention of stopping illegals landing on English beaches. And from his mansion in California, I doubt he will give it a second thought. Sunak is trying to compete with starmer on how many u turns he can make.

Government now just rubber stamping all asylum claims - come one, come all... They think by doing that it will make them homeless, once they are granted asylum the government has no legal obligation to accommodate them, they have to register with their local council, but that will backfire because it wont deter them, they'll find somewhere to live.

Sunak dropping the boats has caused a big slash around here. What do you mean by 'dropping the boats'? If you mean stopping the boats you're very wrong. This month (November 2023) the EU have allowed 758 illegals to cross the channel from the EU state of France, it would have been 760 but two drowned. And this is winter, a slow period. Just because the BBC and left wing press don't report it doesn't mean it's not happening.

"More than 96,000 migrants arrived in Britain after crossing the Channel between January 2018 and June 2023. A total of 1,319, or 1.4 per cent, of these individuals were removed from the UK in that period, according to Home Office figures obtained by the Financial Times through a freedom of information request."

Does anyone else get the impression that Rishi's heart may not be in this boat-stopping thing and that he might just be stringing us along until the next election following which he can move to California and make megabucks as a 'consultant'?
