The government should consist of experts selected by the MPs. MPs should be primarily concerned with the needs of their constituents. The constituencies should be enlarged to say, six times their present size and voters would register with the candidates of their choice. The top six would become MPs. Their pay would be governed by how many people are registered with them. The voting power of the MPs when the experts are being selected would be based upon the number of voters registered with them. The experts would nominate themselves. Political parties would no longer exist. The Chancellor of the Exchequer would have the power to veto the financial demands of the various departments.

MPs should not directly run the country They don't. The country is run by the civil service. The government should consist of experts selected by the MPs... And again, it already largely does with various specialists being employed to advise on policy matters. I don't disagree with the rest of your proposals although as usual anyone wanting to do the job is probably not suitable.

We had Government by 'experts' during the Pandemic. They all followed the (wrong) groupthink and ended up wrecking the economy.
